Flaky croissants, juicy berries, and a sweet cream cheese sauce bake together and taste a bit like a cheese danish!

Sweet Croissant Breakfast Casserole

croissants (from the bakery) (sliced into 1 inch cubes)

berries

oz cream cheese, (softened)

milk ((whole

sugar

eggs

tsp vanilla extract

lemon

heavy cream ((or half and half and milk))

vanilla vanilla

Grease an 8x8" baking dish, fill with sliced croissants and mixed berries. Set aside.

Add cream cheese to mixing bowl and beat with hand mixer until smooth. Add milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla and lemon zest and beat until combined.

Pour mixture over croissants and berries.

Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight.

Remove baking dish from refrigerator and let sit on the counter. Preheat oven to 350 F degrees.

Bake, covered with aluminum foil, for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for 15 minutes, until golden and when a knife inserted in center comes out clean.

While casserole is baking, add powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla bean paste to a small mixing bowl and whisk to combine until smooth and pourable.

Drizzle glaze over casserole after it&#x27;s finished baking. Serve warm and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

MIXED BERRY OVERNIGHT CROISSANT BREAKFAST BAKE

This Overnight Sausage and Egg Breakfast Casserole is a classic in our house! I’ve been having it on holiday mornings since I was a kid and have carried the tradition into adulthood.

Overnight Sausage and Egg Breakfast Casserole

bread, cubed*

sausage,

cheddar cheese

milk

dry mustard

salt

Pepper,

Spread the bread evenly into the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.

2. Sprinkle the sausage and cheese evenly over the bread.

3. In a large measuring cup, combine the eggs, milk, dry mustard, salt and pepper.

4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the ingredients in the pan.

6. Prior to baking, preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until set. Cover it loosely for the first 30 minutes or so, then bake uncovered for the reminder. You may need to bake it for a little more or less time depending on your oven and how soft or “runny” you prefer the eggs to be. I don’t really like it to be runny, but I also don’t want it to dry out. To check it, use a fork or knife to stick in the middle and see how soft it still is.

*I like to use a little bit sturdier bread. Often I use the Pepperidge Farms Sourdough loaf.

For a little more nutrition, I added some fresh spinach to the sausage at the end to wilt it and added sliced Roma tomatoes on top! Soooo good

I make this about once a month for a quick and easy breakfast option for my husband and me. I portion out individual servings and we eat it throughout the week. Always tastes just as good on day 3 or 4 as it does in day 1!

This Cheesy Biscuit Breakfast Casserole is the ultimate easy breakfast recipe!  Deliciously savory with hints of sweetness, this casserole is easy to prep ahead and even freeze.

Biscuit Breakfast Casserole Recipe

sausage

onion

half and half

paprika

tsp kosher salt

tsp black pepper

garlic powder

16.3 oz can Pillsbury Southern Homestyle refrigerated biscuits (or your favority variety)

Colby cheese

Monterey Jack cheese

Preheat oven to 400°F and lightly spray a 9x13&quot; baking dish with cooking spray.  Set aside.

Heat a large skillet over MED HIGH heat.  Once hot, add sausage and cook about 5 minutes, crumbling as you cook, until sausage is no longer pink.  Remove to a plate with a wooden spoon, reserving the grease.

Add onion to the skillet and cook about 3-4 minutes, stirring often, until onion is soft and starting to brown a bit at the edges.  Add to the plate with the sausage.

To a large mixing bowl, add eggs and half and half.  Whisk to combine well.  Whisk in paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.  Set aside for a bit.

Add biscuits to the prepared baking dish.  Mine fit in two rows of 4, but feel free to arrange yours however you&#39;d like.

Top with cooked sausage and onion.  Sprinkle both cheeses over the top.

Pour the egg mixture over the top, making sure to evenly disperse the liquid.

Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and eggs are set.

Serve hot and enjoy.

This has been our Christmas morning breakfast casserole the last few years and we love it!! I add additional seasonings to my sausage like garlic, seasoned salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. I also cut the breakfast biscuits into 6 pieces and line them up on the tray so that it spaces out the liquid better. I actually do make this the night before and put in the fridge and we love how it turns ours I feel like it helps the flavors meld!
