Hasselback Garlic Cheesy Bread

Water

Honey

Active Dry Yeast (2 1/4 Teaspoons)

Salt

Bread Flour

Olive Oil (For Greasing Surfaces)

Sharp White Cheddar (Or Any Other Cheese You Prefer)

Garlic Butter

In a large bowl, stir water, honey and yeast together. Let yeast proof 5 minutes. Once you know yeast is active, stir in salt and the flour in 1/4 cup increments. If you are using a stand mixer, be sure to not increase your speed higher than a 2 or ‘stir’. Once dough starts pulling away from the sides and the bowl seems to be pretty clean, set a timer for 5 minutes and walk away. Let the machine knead the dough. After 5 minutes, dough should be smooth and tacky but when touched shouldn’t leave any dough on your fingers.

Grease the bowl and the dough. Cover with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and let rise 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Punch down dough and cut into two equal portions. Form into two long baguettes the length of the cookie sheet. I like to twist mine because it looks cool, but it also keeps its length and doesn’t shrink. Cover with plastic wrap and rise 30 minutes. Start to preheat oven to 400 degrees F and place dough close to the oven where it’s nice and warm. Once oven is preheated, remove plastic wrap, from the dough reduce oven to 350F, put the bread into the oven and bake 20 minutes.

In the meantime, slice the cheese into thin slices and melt the butter.

Pull loaves of bread out of the oven after 20 minutes and brush with the melted garlic butter. Bake another 5-7 minutes or until bread begins to turn a golden brown. Remove from oven and cool 15 minutes.

Cut 1-inch slices 3/4′s of the the way through the loaves. Brush garlic butter in between each slice and fill with a slice of cheese. Bake another 3-5 minutes or until cheese is completely melted.

Serve immediately.

Preheat the oven to 375 F (190 C).

In a small mixing bowl, combine the vegan butter, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the parsley and garlic are evenly distributed and the butter is slightly softened and spreadable.

Place ~1 Tbsp of butter mixture on each slice of bread, spreading it evenly, reaching all the way to the edges of the bread. Be generous! Place the bread in a single layer on a large bare baking sheet (for larger bread you may need 2 sheets) — it’s okay if the bread is very close together or touching as long as it’s not overlapping.

Evenly sprinkle ~1-2 tsp of vegan parmesan cheese on each slice of bread.

Place the bread in the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are just turning golden and the vegan parmesan is looking lightly toasty.

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for 2-3 minutes before serving! It&#39;s delicious paired with our Easy 1-Pot Tomato Soup, 1-Pot Vegan White Bean Soup, Easy Penne Arrabbiata, Easy Vegan Lasagna, or Chickpea Caesar Salad (30 Minutes!). Enjoy!

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days or in the freezer for up to 1 month. Reheat in the oven at 350 F (176 C) until warmed through, ~5-10 minutes.

Homemade Roasted Garlic Bread

large half baked French baguette (17 oz.)

unsalted butter (softened)

garlic bulbs (roasted)

olive oil

parsley (chopped)

salt

black pepper (fresh cracked)

Preheat oven to 375 degree F

Cut the garlic bulbs on the top and drizzle 1 tsp. of olive oil on each garlic bulb. Wrap the garlic bulbs with foil wrap and bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes.

In the meantime chop the parsley. Place the baguette onto a sheet pan lined with foil paper and slice the baguette.

Once the garlic has roasted, open up the foil and let it cool for 5 minutes.

Keep the oven on.

Squeeze out the garlic bulbs to remove the flesh onto a plate. Add in the softened butter, chopped parsley, salt and pepper. Mash everything together to form a paste. It does not have to be super creamy.

Rub the butter paste between the sliced baguette bread pieces. Brush a little bit of the leftover paste on the outside of the baguette bread.

Wrap with foil wrap and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven, open up the foil wrap and cook for another 5-10 minutes uncovered to allow it to get golden in color.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before serving.

Sugar, 3 tbsp

Place 80g flour in a small bowl (fitted with a lid), and add the 2g yeast. Stir to combine.

In a large mixing bowl, add the remaining flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and mix.

Add the refrigerated dough, butter, and milk. Mix until a dough forms.

Divide into 2 portions and knead each portion slightly.

Use a rolling pin to flatten and the roll.

Place the dough rolls into greased bread pans.

Grease each bread with milk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 180C/ 350°F for 20-25 minutes.

Slice the bread, but make sure not to cut all the way through.

Spread the slices on both sides with the garlic butter mixture.

Bake another 3-5 minutes at 180°C / 350°F.
