Honey Simple Syrup - an easy way to keep honey loose and liquid so it's easy to pour and mix into vinaigrettes, marinades and drinks! 

Liquid Honey ( aka honey simple syrup)

water

Place warm water and honey in a clean squeeze bottle and covering the opening with your finger, give a good shake.

If your honey is very hard and/ or thick, mix with the water, in a small pot on the stove, over low heat, stirring  until combined. Cool and pour into a squeeze bottle.

Honey Syrup

Heat

Heat over a medium/low heat for 5 minutes.

Cool

Remove the pan from the heat and allow it to cool slightly.

Store

Pour into a sanitized bottle or jar and allow to cool completely. It will thicken slightly as it cools.

The classic Paloma gets a sweet and smokey twist with the addition of honey and mezcal.

Mezcal Paloma

salt

chili powder

lime,

oz Mezcal (or sub tequila)

oz Grapefruit juice

oz honey simple syrup

Club soda

Combine

Combine salt, chili powder, and lime zest and spread out a small plate.

Make Chili-Lime Salt Rim

Wipe the rim of a highball glass with a wedge of lime. Dip into the chili-lime salt to coat rim.

Shake

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the mezcal, grapefruit juice, and simple syrup and shake about 15 seconds.

Pour

Pour into a salt-rimmed glass and top off with club soda and a few ice cubes.  Garnish with mint and grapefruit wedges.

My new go to Paloma. So much better than other recipes I’ve tried and so easy!!
