Heat

In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the milk, cacao powder, and maple syrup to a simmer. Stir until there&#039;s no clumps.

Add the finely chopped chocolate and whisk for about 3-5 minutes, or until the hot chocolate is smooth.

Pour

Pour the hot chocolate into mugs, and if you&#039;d like, top with whipped cream, coconut whipped cream or homemade marshmallows and a sprinkle of cacao powder.

White Hot Chocolate

c. whole milk

white chocolate, finely chopped

vanilla bean paste (or 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract)

kosher salt

Pink gel food coloring

&nbsp;This rich and creamy hot chocolate is super easy to make, and has intense chocolate flavor. Garnish with whipped cream or marshmallows for a cold weather treat!

Best Homemade Hot Chocolate

Combine milk and sugar in a small saucepan and place on the stovetop over medium heat.

While the milk is heating place the chopped chocolate in the microwave and heat for 30 seconds. Take the chocolate out and stir it. Return to microwave and heat for another thirty seconds, remove and stir. Continue to heat and stir the chocolate in 30 second intervals until just melted.

When the milk reaches the scalding point (180 degrees F, with bubbles on the side), turn off the heat and add the melted chocolate, whisking&nbsp;to combine. Add the vanilla extract now, if desired. Top with&nbsp;whipped cream or marshmallows if using, and enjoy!

French Hot Chocolate

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and espresso powder until small bubbles appear around the edges. Do not allow the mixture to boil.

Remove from saucepan from the heat and stir in the chopped chocolate until melted, returning the sauce to low heat if needed for the chocolate to melt completely. Serve warm, topped with lots of whipped cream.

Slow Cooker Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate

can sweetened condensed milk

evaporated milk

vanilla

peanut butter

chocolate chips

In your slow cooker add the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk, vanilla and peanut butter.

Whisk until all combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips.

Set slow cooker on low and let cook for 2 hours stirring occasionally.

A decadent and delicious hot chocolate recipe that is made using milk infused with beautiful roses and cardamoms, complementing perfectly the flavours of rich chocolates.

Rose and cardamom infused hot chocolate recipe

tsps honey/ maple syrup (or any sweetener) (depending on the sweetness you want.)

rose water (food grade for baking/ organic)

rose petals (for garnishing / for serving)

tsp cardamom powder (for garnishing / for serving)

milk (for frothing)

Lightly crush the cardamom pods and the rose petals using a pestle and mortar.

boil

Add the rose petals and cardamoms to the milk. Bring it to a boil, simmering over slow heat.

steep

Cool it and let the flavours steep in for some time. This can also be kept overnight in the fridge.

Sieve

Once infused strain it through a fine mesh strainer (tea strainer) to discard the rose petals, and cardamom pods. The rose and cardamom infused milk is now ready to be used.

Heat milk

Add cocoa powder, (white hot chocolate powder or regular cocoa powder), and mix.

Add sweetener . Whisk the milk.

Add a few drops of rose water. Mix well.

froth

Using a milk frother, froth half a cup of milk, and top your hot chocolates with frothy milk.

garnish and serve

Sprinkle a few rose petals, dust some cardamom powder and serve and enjoy.

Creamy and thick homemade Hot Chocolate for a rich chocolatey goodness in every warm sip. The recipe is made with cooking (baking) chocolate, milk and cream for a warming and luxurious beverage.

Hot Chocolate Recipe

vanilla extract (or ¼ to ½ teaspoon vanilla essence)

Chop or grate the semi-sweet chocolate. You will need 6 to 7 tablespoons of chopped chocolate.

Take the chopped chocolate in a small mixing bowl. Set the bowl aside.

Prepping Chocolate

In a saucepan add milk and sugar.

Begin to heat the milk until it comes to a simmer and begins to gently boil. When you keep the milk on the stove-top, stir so that the sugar dissolves.

Switch off the heat and place saucepan on the countertop.

Heating Milk

Then take 2 to 3 tablespoons milk from the hot milk in the saucepan and add to the bowl containing chopped chocolate.

With a whisk mix the hot milk with the chocolate to a smooth consistency.

Melting Chocolate

Now pour this melted chocolate and vanilla extract in the hot milk in the saucepan which is placed on the kitchen countertop. Mix very well.

Pour hot chocolate in cups.

If you like top the hot chocolate with some whipped cream (or whipping cream) or heavy cream. If you have whipped cream, use it or simply add either heavy or whipping cream. You can also sprinkle some cocoa powder or chocolate shavings or gratings on top.

Serve homemade Hot Chocolate straightaway.

Mixing

This Hot Chocolate with Water will be your new favorite cozy drink: rich, creamy, and so chocolaty! It&#39;s made without milk and is dairy-free, vegan, and ready in just 5 minutes!

Creamy Hot Chocolate with Water

water

dark chocolate chips

tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips

brown sugar

salt

¼ tsp ground cinnamon ((optional))

tsp vanilla extract ((optional))

To a small saucepan add water, chocolate chips, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and vanilla. At this point, add the cinnamon if desired.

Whisk well, until no clumps of cocoa powder remain. Let it heat on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes, stirring often to prevent it from burning.

When the mixture is warm enough to your liking, and the chocolate has melted, remove it from the heat. Then, pour the hot chocolate into two mugs. Add your favorite toppings and serve right away!

Add hot chocolate to a blender and blend on high for 30-60 seconds, until foam has formed. The longer you blender, the more foam you&#39;ll have. Serve immediately!

Ps, I used whole milk Lactaid, which worked just fine, along with a 1/2 cup of heavy cream and 1 tsp of Espresso powder.

The taste was very nice and strong but the consistency was more like soup. It was quite difficult to drink. I think there is too much cream in the recipe!

I’ve had thick, decadent hot chocolate in Berlin in the past &amp; hoped this would be similar. It is delicious but waaaaay too thick to *sip.* Even with adding additional milk, it’s more a consistency somewhere between a ganache and a pudding. Too rich &amp; too bitter. (Probably my fault, used Lindt 85% dark.) I used a spoon to lick /eat this but it’s clawingly rich.  Will store the rest &amp; see about reheating &amp; adding more milk tomorrow.

This is more like a chocolate truffle drink than the kind of hot chocolate we’re used to in America (I know it’s French!). It’s very thick, and *very* rich. You can’t have more than a few sips (and I love rich things!!). It is delicious!  However, if you’re like me and are looking for just a very good cup of hot chocolate that doesn’t taste like Swiss Miss, half the chocolate in this recipe will give you something closer to what you’re looking for. Still very rich! But more drinkable and probably the best cup of hot chocolate you’ve ever had.

The choice of chocolate is questionable. I was hoping the thickness and richness of the cream and whole milk would balance out the bitterness of it, but the drink just ended up tasting mostly bitter despite the extra confectioners sugar. It also did not look like the picture shown, which I’m sure is just a random stock photo. The drink was somewhat thicker than standard hot cocoa, but it was nowhere near as thick as the images on this page imply. Would definitely not make this one again.

this was so rich and creamy! i used ghirardelli dark chocolate chips and it still worked! the little bit of espresso made the flavour so nice.

Oh my, just made a batch and I have to say it rivals any I’ve had   I used Fortunato #4 68% and it was thick and delicious, my wife and sipped a cup and just were left speechless😎

This was a perfect hot chocolate after a 10k snowshoe. I topped it with some frothed milk and shaved chocolate.  Delicious!  All that I was missing was a fireplace and marshmallows but had the snow and freezing temperature.  ☃️❄️☃️❄️

I was just opening your website to get to the recipe to make Nutella for the second time (it is sooo good!!), when I saw this. Perfect idea, I thought, so I cleaned my Nutella cluttered Vitamix with milk, poured the stuff into a cup then into the microwave for a minute. Perfect!!! Never thought about Nutella hot chocolate, but I will now make it each time as a cleaning procedure for my Vitamix after I make the Nutella. Add the whole milk and heavy cream to a saucepan. Heat over medium until steaming, but not boiling.

Whisk in the cocoa powder, sugar, and salt until smooth.

If using cornstarch, whisk together 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp cold milk to make a slurry. Pour into the pot and gently simmer for about 1 minute to activate and thicken slightly.

Turn

Turn the heat to low and whisk in the chopped chocolate until fully melted and glossy.

Remove

Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.

Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate shavings. Enjoy!

This recipe was so quick and easy, it truly made the warmth feel completely enriched through each sip. 

I used 1/3 cup of Sugar for a tab of sweetness but this recipe is truly something I will be looking forward to making every winter season 😊❄️
