Instant pot cheese grits are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or as a side item to your favorite seafood. Here is how I make mine.

Instant Pot Cheese Grits

black pepper

Stone ground grits ((I am using Trader Joe's))

garlic powder

milk

sated butter ((or more, to taste))

parmesan cheese ((or more, to taste))

Add grits, garlic powder, water, salt and pepper to the inner pot.

Place the lid on, and set the pressure valve to sealing; cook on manual high pressure for 10 minutes.

Allow the pot to naturally release - mine took about 16 minutes

Stir the grits, and use the back of your spoon pressed against the pot to break up any lumps.

Stir in milk, butter and cheese.&nbsp;

If the grits are too thin, you can turn on sauté to cook them a little longer, stirring frequently. If the grits are too thick, add more milk or water, and stir to combine until desired consistency.

Taste test, and add more salt, pepper, cheese or butter as you wish.

Serve immediately.&nbsp;

In just a matter of minutes, you can have Instant Pot grits ready to serve!

Cheesy Instant Pot Grits

milk (warmed)

sharp cheddar cheese (or more to taste)

⅛ teaspoon each salt and pepper (or to taste)

Melt the butter in the Instant Pot using the saute setting over medium heat.

Add the grits and cook for 2 minutes, stirring often, until fragrant.

Add the water and cover and seal the Instant Pot.

Cook for 10 minutes on Manual high pressure. Preform a natural pressure release for 15 minutes After that time, release any remaining pressure.

Stir the warmed milk into the grits, followed by the cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Serve hot with a sprinkle of cheese and butter.
