In a 6-quart Instant Pot, stir together the water, almond milk, oats, salt, and maple syrup. Cover and seal. Cook on HIGH pressure (manual) for 4 minutes. Let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes. Carefully remove lid.

Give the oats a big stir. Carefully taste (they will be hot!) and add additional cinnamon and/or maple syrup to taste. The oats will continue to thicken as they cool. Ladle into serving bowls and serve hot with any desired toppings.

INSTANT POT OATMEAL is so easy to make, so it's perfect for busy mornings. This Instant Pot Apple Pie Oatmeal is made in under 10 minutes, making mornings easy and delicious! Top this tasty apple oatmeal with some fresh whipped cream for an extra special treat. It tastes just like Apple Pie in breakfast form!

Instant Pot Apple Pie Oatmeal

salted butter

brown sugar

whipped cream (walnuts, and diced apple as garnish (if desired))

Set your pressure cooker (click HERE  (affiliate) if you need to buy one!) to saute and add in butter. Allow butter to melt, spreading it across the bottom of the instant pot.

Add in the oats and stir to coat in the butter. Stir continuously for approximately 2 minutes or until the oats are starting to toast.

Pour in the water, cider, brown sugar, cinnamon, and apple. Stir to combine.

Switch instant pot to "pressure cook" and set for 8 minutes.

When it's done cooking, allow to sit closed for 5 minutes, naturally releasing some of the steam. Then press the release and allow the remaining steam to leave the pot.

Open the pot (be careful!) and stir to freshen up the oatmeal. Doesn't it smell amazing?!

Serve hot topped with fresh whipped cream, more diced apples, and walnuts if desired.

How to cook old fashioned oats in your pressure cooker for creamy, perfectly cooked oatmeal.&nbsp;

Prepare Instant Pot

Insert the trivet into the Instant Pot. Pour in 1 cup cold water inside the inner pot for a 3 or 6-quart instant pot and 1.5 cups of cold water into an 8 quart instant pot.

Mix oatmeal in seperate bowl

Inside a 7-cup heat-safe bowl, mix together the oats, 1 cup water, and 2 cups milk, and flaxseed. Please note that Pyrex is NO longer approved for using inside and instant pot.

Place bowl on trivet

Place the bowl on top of the trivet and put the lid on Instant pot. 

Set cook time.

Set Valve to &quot;sealed&quot; and set manual or time to 3 minutes on high pressure.

Allow pressure to release

Allow to naturally release for 10 minutes before carefully releasing any additional steam by using a wooden spoon to turn valve to vent. 

Serve as desired.

Remove bowl carefully from pressure cooker and then serve with desired toppings or allow to cool and store in fridge to reheat as needed.&nbsp;

To avoid sticking, lightly coat the inner pot of your Instant Pot with coconut oil or cooking spray.

Add oats into the Instant Pot followed by milk.

Secure the lid and close the vent.

Press the MANUAL (or PRESSURE COOKER for newer Instant Pot models) button and set to 4 minutes.

After the oats finish cooking, allow the pressure to release naturally (about 10-15 minutes).

After the pressure releases, open the lid and give the oatmeal a good stir. Any extra liquid will absorb as it cools.

Add cinnamon, sweetener or other additions you like.

Top oatmeal with fresh fruit, nut butter, a splash of milk, or any other toppings you like.

I use 2 cups of Steel Cut Oats and 5 cups of milk or water and set the cook time to 5 minutes. I do NOT recommend making a larger batch at once, as it caused the outer parts to burn when I tried.

To Double the Recipe

Grease the inner pot as usual.

Add 3 cups of rolled oats, 5 1/2 cups of water and set for 4 minutes on HIGH Pressure.

Release steam naturally for 15 minutes after it&#039;s done.

Stir. Add sweeteners, flavorings, toppings and enjoy!

How To Make Instant Pot Steel Cut Oats

This Instant Pot Pumpkin Pie Steel Cut Oats recipe works in any Electric Pressure Cooker, it&#x27;s perfect Fall food and an easy make ahead recipe that can be reheated the next day

Instant Pot Pumpkin Pie Steel Cut Oatmeal

Add the steel cut oats (we used gluten free) pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, salt, brown sugar, and water to your electric pressure cooker and stir well.

Lock the lid, turn the steam vent to &#x27;sealing&#x27; and using the manual setting, adjust it to cook for 10 minutes at High Pressure. (please read recipe notes on cook time first)

When the cook time time is up, allow the unit to reduce pressure on its own without opening the steam release vent (Natural Release or &#x27;NPR&#x27;) for at least 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes you can carefully and slowly release the rest of the pressure.

When you open the lid you will see that the cooked oats are on the bottom of the pot and the water has separated and is on the top. This is normal, all you need to do is stir the oatmeal until the water is mixed in.

Taste and add more sugar as desired. Optional toppings include half and half and chopped nuts

Pressure cooker oatmeal is an easy breakfast! The best Instant Pot oatmeal is made with rolled oats, toasted until fragrant then cooked for just 3 minutes. 

Easy Instant Pot Oatmeal

unsalted butter or coconut oil*

2% milk or almond milk

Toppings: Milk, maple syrup, banana, toasted walnuts, etc.

Turn on Saute mode and add the butter to the Instant Pot. When it is heated, add the oats and toast for 3 minutes, stirring often, until fragrant. Add the milk, water, salt and cinnamon.

Cook on High Pressure for 3 minutes

Press the Pressure Cook button, making sure the “High Pressure” setting is selected, and set the time. Note that it takes about 4 minutes (or 10 minutes, if the recipe is doubled) for the pot to “preheat” and come up to pressure before it starts cooking. During cooking, avoid touching the metal part of the lid.

Quick release

Vent the remaining steam from the Instant Pot by moving the pressure release handle to “Venting”, covering your hand with a towel or hot pad. Never put your hands or face near the vent when releasing steam. Open the pressure cooker lid and stir the oatmeal. Serve immediately with desired toppings.

Add the oats, water and/or milk, butter (if using), and a pinch of salt to the Instant Pot. Stir well to combine. Secure the lid and cook the oats for 2 minutes, high pressure (it will take approximately 5-8 minutes for the Instant Pot to reach full pressure).

After the cooking time is completed, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then manually release any remaining pressure. Carefully remove the lid once the pressure valve pops up and all of the steam has been released.

Enjoy immediately with all of your favorite toppings.

Instant Pot Oatmeal (Fool Proof!)

Pour the oats and water into the bottom of the Instant Pot. You can add a pinch of salt if you want to at this point, but don&#039;t add any other seasonings until after the oats are cooked.

Secure the lid and move the steam release valve to Sealing. Use the Manual or Pressure Cook button to cook at high pressure for zero minutes. (Yes, zero is a real setting!)

When the cooking cycle is compete, let the pressure naturally release for 10 minutes. When the screen reads L0:10, you can move the steam release valve to Venting, to release any remaining pressure. When the floating valve in the lid drops, it&#039;s safe to remove the lid.

Serve the oatmeal warm, with your favorite toppings. I usually add some almond milk to help loosen the texture at this point, along with maple syrup and cinnamon, to taste.

Method #1: Cooking Directly in the Pot

Pour 1 extra cup of water into the bottom of your Instant Pot, and place a trivet over that.

In an oven-safe bowl that is 7-inches in diameter or less, stir together the oats and water. (You can use milk for this method, if you prefer.) Place the bowl on top of the trivet, then secure the lid and move the steam release valve to Sealing. Use the Manual or Pressure Cook button to cook at high pressure for 1 minute.

Use oven mitts to remove the bowl of cooked oatmeal, as it will be very hot. Transfer the oatmeal to a serving bowl, so you don&#039;t have to worry about burning your hands, then add your favorite toppings and serve warm.

These Instant Pot Steel Cut Oats are creamy, chewy oatmeal perfection! Cooking steel cut oats in the Instant Pot is an easy and hands-off way to make steel cut oatmeal. This recipe is perfect for make ahead breakfasts.

Close the Instant Pot lid and move the steam release valve to the sealing position.

Set the cook time using the Pressure Cook/Manual function to 4 minutes at high pressure.

The Instant Pot will take a few minutes to reach pressure and then the cook time will begin counting down. When the cook time ends, allow the Instant Pot to naturally release for at least 15-20 minutes (just leave the Instant Pot alone).
