This healthy chicken teriyaki is made without sugar, gluten or starch!

Low Carb Keto Japanese Chicken Teriyaki Recipe

broccoli

carrot

red bell pepper (or any other colour)

yellow bell pepper (or any other colour)

onion

green onions

572 g boneless chicken thighs (4 thighs)

sesame seeds

tbsp sesame oil

tbsp Sugar Free Teriyaki Sauce (RECIPE HERE)

Cut the chicken thighs into bite size pieces (or preferred size).Dice the bell pepper and carrot.&nbsp; Cut the broccoli.&nbsp; Slice the onion and green onions.

Add the chicken to a large bowl and pour the 2 tbsp of teriyaki sauce all over.&nbsp; Mix together until all pieces of chicken are coated in sauce. Let it marinate for 30 minutes or more.&nbsp;

In a large frying pan, heat 2 tbsp of sesame oil.&nbsp; Add the onion and carrot and fry 2-3 minutes.&nbsp; Add the bell pepper and cook another 2-3 minutes.&nbsp; Remove the vegetables from the pan and set aside. We will re-add them in a bit.

Turn the heat to low-medium, heat 1 tbsp of sesame oil and add your chicken thighs skin side down.&nbsp; Fry 2-3 minutes on one side and flip.&nbsp; Cook another 2-3 minutes.&nbsp; Add the vegetables and broccoli.&nbsp; Stir fry until the broccoli is tender and the sauce has thickened down.

Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions all over the dish.

A sweet and sticky Japanese teriyaki sauce made without sugar!

Sugar Free Keto Teriyaki Sauce

tbsp organic tamari soy sauce

tbsp cooking sake (or dry sherry)

tbsp Lakanto maple syrup (or fiber syrup)

tbsp Lakanto Golden (or sukrin gold)

garlic

tbsp ginger (grated)

tsp xanthan gum (or guar gum, arrowroot, tapioca)

Place all of the ingredients except the xanthan gum in a frying pan and put to boil.&nbsp; Once the Lakanto Golden sweetener has melted and the sauce is bubbling, sprinkle in the xanthan gum.&nbsp; Stir until the sauce has thickened. This should take 1-2 minutes.&nbsp; Immediately turn off the heat.

Authentic Crispy Japanese Teriyaki Chicken

(1/2 lb) chicken thigh

salt

tbsp potato starch

vegetable oil

soy sauce

mirin

tbsp sake

brown sugar

tbsp liquid dashi (or water)

tsp honey

First, place the chicken thigh on a chopping board with the underneath facing up (skin-side down) and make horizontal incisions on the thickest parts to make small flaps. Pull out the flaps so that the chicken thigh is more or less an even thickness all the way through. 

Flip the chicken over and pierce the skin with a fork all over.

Sprinkle with a pinch of salt on both sides and rub it over.

Thinly coat the underneath with potato starch (or corn starch). Make sure to brush off any excess.

Add the vegetable oil to a cold pan and place the chicken thigh inside with the skin side facing down.

Move the chicken around the pan in a circular motion so that the skin and surface of the pan are evenly coated in oil.

Place the pan on the stove and turn the heat on a medium setting. Fry for 7 minutes, rotating the chicken from time to time to ensure that the skin is evenly browned.

While the chicken is cooking, take a small bowl and add the soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, dashi stock and honey. Mix until the sugar and honey are dissolved.

After 7 minutes have passed, flip the chicken thigh over and fry for 2 minutes on the other side.

Use a paper towel to wipe up excess oil in the pan.

Once 2 minutes have passed turn up the heat to medium high and pour the sauce into the pan.

Scoop up the sauce with a spoon and pour it over the surface of the chicken. Keep spooning the sauce over the chicken until it becomes thick and glossy.

Remove from the heat and rest for a few minutes before cutting it into strips.
