Blackberry Sous Vide Infused Vodka

lemon juice

Set the Sous Vide Precision to 135 degrees.

Place berries into a quart sized mason jar and top with vodka, leaving a half inch of space from the top of the jar.

Cook for 3 hours.

Strain and chill.

Combine the vodka, lemon juice, and sugar and pour into a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour into martini glasses and garnish with lemon slices or frozen blackberries.

Add the sliced citrus, lemonade, vodka, simple syrup, and White Claw to a large pitcher and stir.

Pour into glasses over ice, garnish with citrus, and serve immediately with a straw, if desired.

A festive cranberry twist on a lemon drop martini recipe, using a homemade cranberry syrup for a bit of sweetness. Light, fruity and festive!

Cranberry Lemon Drop Martini

C cranberry simple syrup (from above)

C lemon juice

C vodka

ice (for shaking)

Coarsely chop the cranberries and place in a medium saucepan with water. Simmer the cranberries for 20 minutes.

Gently mash the cranberries and strain through cheesecloth or a fine strainer (you should have about 1 cup of juice, add more water if not).

Place the juice back in the saucepan with 1 cup of sugar. Bring to a boil and immediately remove from heat. Set aside to cool.

Fill a shaker halfway with large chunks of ice. Add in 2 oz (1/4 cup) of each the cranberry simple syrup, lemon juice, and vodka.

Shake until mixed and chilled well, and pour into a martini glass. Enjoy immediately!

We turned to lemon drop peppers not only because of their beautiful, vibrant yellow, but also for their super unique flavors. They pop with bright, lemony citrus aromas and a zippy heat. And while they do pack a good hot punch, they don’t come close to the face-melting heat of a habanero.

Recipe: Lemon Drop Fermented Hot Sauce

Fermented Hot Sauce Kit

lemon, peels only

white vinegar, reserved

Tip: lemon drop peppers are hot, we strongly recommend wearing gloves while preparing this recipe. 

Pack peppers, chopped carrot and lemon peels into fermentation jar.

Combine salt and water, stir until salt is fully dissolved to make the brine.

Add fermentation weight and pour in brine to cover, vegetables should be fully submerged. Questions about fermentation weights? Check out our Fermentation Weight Guide.

Top with lid and airlock (Need help? Check out our How to Assemble Airlock Video). Let ferment for 2-3 weeks at room temperature out of direct sunlight.

Discard lemon peels. Add peppers and chopped carrot to blender with 1/2 cup of the fermentation liquid. Blend until smooth and then add white vinegar. If hot sauce is too spicy, add more vinegar to taste. Hot sauce will keep refrigerated for at least 2 months.
