Lime sherbet is zingy, citrusy and so refreshing! Make it at home and it's exceedingly better than store-bought.

Lime Sherbet

lime juice (7 to 8 large limes)*

lime zest

sugar

milk

green food coloring (optional)

Place the lime juice, lime zest, sugar and ice in a blender and blend until sugar is dissolved. Stir in the whole milk and food coloring.

Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn for 20 to 25 minutes, until the texture becomes frosty and creamy. Line a container with parchment paper and add the sherbet. Place it in the freezer and freeze for 2 hours to allow it to come to a scoopable texture. Store in a parchment lined sealed container for up to 1 week; allow to come to room temperature for about 10 minutes before scooping.

Add all of the ingredients to a high-speed...

Add all of the ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth and the sugar has dissolved– about 1 minute.

Freeze the sherbet in your ice cream maker...

Freeze the sherbet in your ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Mine took about 20 minutes on low speed. 

For soft serve sherbet: enjoy immediately. 

For scoopable sherbet: transfer the soft frozen sherbet...

For scoopable sherbet: transfer the soft frozen sherbet to a 9x5” loaf pan and wrap it tightly with plastic wrap. Freeze for an additional 6 hours and then scoop and enjoy.

Mix the milk, limeade concentrate and granulated sugar in a food processor or blender. If desired, add green food coloring, as well. Mix until ingredients are thoroughly combined.
