This Low Country Boil is a blend of shrimp, crab, sausage, corn and potatoes, all cooked together to create a hearty dinner. A complete meal in one pot that&#039;s perfect for a feeding a large group of people!

Low Country Boil

lemons (divided use)

Old Bay seasoning (plus more for garnish)

garlic (smashed)

onion

baby red potatoes (halved)

shrimp (peeled and deveined (leave tails on))

crab (legs and/or bodies)

sausage

butter

parsley

Cut 2 of the lemons into quarters. Cut the remaining lemon into wedges and reserve the wedges for later use.

Fill a large pot with 12-14 cups of water. Place the 2 quartered lemons in the water along with the Old Bay seasoning, garlic and onion. Bring to a boil.

Add the potatoes to the pot and cook for 10-12 minutes or until just tender.

Add the crab, corn and sausage and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

Add the shrimp to the pot and cook for 2-3 minutes or until pink and opaque.

Drain the shrimp mixture from the pot, reserving 1 cup of the broth.

Melt the butter and whisk it into the reserved broth. Pour the broth over the shrimp and crab mixture.

Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon wedges. Sprinkle with additional Old Bay seasoning to taste, then serve immediately.

Low Country Boil made a little different than the traditional way. We love doing ours on the grill for a more amazing flavor!

Low Country Boil (on the grill)

lbs raw shrimp

2.5 lbs. sausage (andouille

lbs red potatoes (small)

corn

garlic (minced)

olive oil

Tbsp. Old Bay Seasoning (1-2 tablespoons per packet)

tsp pepper (1/2 tsp per packet)

lemons

parsley (chopped for garnish)

garlic bread (sliced)

Place corn, sausage, potatoes and shrimp into seperate bowls.

In a bowl place a handful of sausage, potatoes, shrimp and 4-5 years of corn.

Drizzle with a couple tablespoons of olive oil.

Add in 2-3 Tablespoons of minced garlic.

Sprinkle with 1-2 Tablespoons of Old Bay Seasoning.

Add in about a teaspoon of salt and half a teaspoon of pepper

Mix to combine.  Pour contents of bowl onto  two pieces of overlapping heavy duty foil .

Add 4 tablespoons butter and 4 lemon wedges.

Close foil package tightly and cover with an additional piece of foil.

This quantity will make 6-7 packets depending on size.

Heat grill to a medium high heat and place as many packets as you can on the grill.  Cook for 5-6 minutes each side.

Empty contents of packets into a large bowl and then pour down the middle of the table.

Garnish with fresh parsley and add slices of garlic bread if desired.

This low country boil features crab, shrimp, sausage, and veggies for a spicy, flavorful feast! Cook everything in one pot in under an hour.

Southern Low Country Boil (Shrimp and Sausage Recipe)

Old Bay seasoning

lemons (quartered)

yellow onions (quartered)

baby red potatoes (creamer potatoes)

Dungeness crab leg sections*

X-large shrimp* (peeled and deveined)

parsley (chopped)

unsalted butter (melted)

lemon wedges

old bay (to taste)

cocktail sauce

Fill a 12 quart stockpot a little less than halfway with water. Add Old Bay seasoning, quartered lemons, and onions to the pot and bring to a boil over high heat.

Lower the potatoes into the pot and cook for 5 minutes.

Add corn, kielbasa, and crab, and bring to a boil again. Cover and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until potatoes are fork tender.

Lower heat to medium high and add shrimp. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until all shrimp are pink and potatoes are cooked.

Remove seafood and vegetables from the pot. Discard liquid and cooked lemons. Transfer to a serving platter or serve family style on newspaper. Garnish with parsley and lemon wedges. Serve with your favorite sauces and toppings, such as melted butter, cocktail sauce, or additional old bay seasoning.
