This fresh Mint Chutney is a bright, cooling and sensational dip, sauce or spread that&#039;s an easy and versatile 10-minute blender recipe.

Mint Chutney (Pudina Chutney)

½ cups fresh cilantro (packed cup of leaves

mint leaves (no stems)

garlic

½ inch ginger (peeled)

serrano chili peppers

lime juice lime

salt (adjust

cumin

½ teaspoon chaat masala (or amchur)

sugar

water (add more if needed)

Prepare ingredients

Wash and dry cilantro and mint. Peel garlic and ginger, and gather all the ingredients.

Blend chutney

Add all the ingredients to the blender jar. Add water and hit the smoothie setting on your blender. If needed, add more water in increments of 1 tablespoon. Blend until the chutney is smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Cilantro Mint Chutney Recipe 

yogurt,

lemon juice

cilantro, tender stems ok

mint leaves, packed

jalapeno,

ginger

kosher salt,

sugar (or an alternative like honey, palm sugar, etc)

Blend all ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth. Taste and adjust salt and lemon.

To make this thicker, feel free to add desiccated coconut or peanuts.

Made this vegan. Used jarred jalapenos and agave syrup. Turned out fantastic. Thanks!

Thank you for such a simple recipe - made this last night and ate it with homecooked pork keema muttar. Was such a wonderful accompaniment. Will need to try with silken tofu next time.

I made the vegan version! I substituted yogurt with soaked cashews (I used about 3/4 a cup, but I think it would have been better with like a 1/4 cup of cashews.

My friends and I loved it still!! I was out of fresh ginger so I had to used powdered stuff. Fresh would have been lots better.

For sweetener I used some cane sugar and agave.

I would definitely make this again!

Probably my favorite condiment of all time.   I intentionally made it on the spicy side (ie.. hot!) --  using a whole jalapeno from the garden --  to keep me from eating it in two sittings.  (I'm dipping poppadoms)   I'm amazed at how much more flavorful it is when it's made at home (as opposed to getting it at the local Indian restaurant).   I am lucky because I have access to mint growing like crazy in a nearby lot.   Anyway...    bon appetit and thanks!!!    ~Greg

I used almond yogurt as an alternative for my vegan husband. I accidentally forgot the garlic clove, but this was still a great recipe! It's bright, flavorful, a tiny bit spicy and tangy. Thank you for sharing, it was extremely tasty with the samosas we had.

Super yummy I'll recommend to every samosas and nan bread even capati fan.

Made this to go with Lamb Koftas, what a great kick and tastes amazing. Going to make some samosas tomorrow as an excuse to use the sauce again. Highly recommend

Amazing and very very easy! I remember first trying a jalapeño mint chutney at a farmers market at college and I have been trying to find a recipe and this replicated it so well! 
My friends and family really love the chutney and I will definitely be making more in the future ! I ate it with whole wheat naan,chicken schwarma,and the falafel I made . I even added it on my Greek salad and it was just amazing! Thanks for sharing !

Absolutely delicious. I added a bit too much water so it was a bit runny, but full of flavor. Next time I will make extra to put on sandwiches.

Yum! I used vegan unsweetened coconut milk yogurt and it turned out great!

I am not one to make extra sauces and condiments due to time, but I took the chance on this one for my son's birthday dinner.  wow!  we just wanted to eat it straight on naan, and it was especially great with brinjal bharta. Cilantro Mint Chutney!

A cool, spicy and tangy green chutney.  This no-cook mint cilantro chutney is a must try accompaniment to Indian food such as samosa, chaat, kebabs and sandwiches.

Mint Cilantro Chutney Recipe (Indian Green Chutney)

Mint leaves (Pudhina) (packed, stems removed, washed)

Green Chili Pepper (I used thai, adjust

1" inch Ginger (or 1 tablespoon grated)

Garlic

Roasted Cumin Powder

Salt

Sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

Lime juice

Water

Add all the ingredients to the blender.  

Blend at low speed until the ingredients start to mix, then increase the speed and blend to a smooth paste. You might have to stop and stir the ingredients couple of times.  

Chutney is ready.  Enjoy right away or freeze for later.

Easy Mint Chutney (5 Minutes!)

mint leaves

cilantro

garlic, peeled

- 1 medium jalapeño, deseeded and roughly chopped

maple syrup

Tbsp plain, unsweetened coconut yogurt ((for store-bought, we like Culina))

Tbsp water ((plus more as needed))

tsp sea salt

tsp black pepper

To an 8-cup or smaller food processor, add all ingredients: mint, cilantro, garlic, jalapeño (starting with the lesser amount), lemon juice, maple syrup, coconut yogurt, water, sea salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth. If using a larger food processor, we suggest doubling the batch size or it may have trouble blending.

Add more water, 1 tablespoon (15 ml) at a time, to reach your desired consistency. Taste and adjust as needed, adding more jalapeño for heat (we used the full suggested amount), lemon juice for acidity, maple syrup to balance and add sweetness, garlic for zing, or sea salt to taste.

Enjoy fresh in bowls or on fritters, dosas, pakoras, chickpea pancakes, aloo sabzi, or aloo tikki.

Best when fresh. Leftovers will keep in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. If freezing, freeze into ice cube molds then store in a well-sealed container in the freezer for up to 1 month.

Mint chutney also known as Pudina Chutney is a popular Indian side dip made with fresh mint leaves, green chilies, garlic and cumin. Make it in one of 3 ways as shared below.

Pudina Chutney Recipe | Mint Chutney

mint

coriander leaves

salt ((adjust

¼ inch ginger ((peeled))

garlic clove

green chilies (deseeded)

yogurt ((thick curd))

cumin powder ((jeera powder))

chaat masala ((optional))

coconut (fresh chopped or 1 cup grated)

cumin seeds ((jeera))

½ inch ginger ((or 1 to 2 garlic cloves))

salt

green chilies

lemon juice (or 1 tsp tamarind paste)

red chili (broken (optional))

mustard seeds

urad dal

hing ((asafoetida))

mint leaves ((pudina) (tightly packed))

½ inch ginger

lemon juice ((adjust

chaat masala ((adjust to taste))

water (or as needed)

Pluck the mint leaves from the stalks or stems. Rinse them well in a large bowl of water a few times. Drain them completely to a colander. 

Preparation

Add mint, coriander leaves, salt, ginger, garlic, green chilies, roasted cumin powder, sugar, salt and 1 tbsp yogurt to a blender jar.

Blend to a fine paste. Whisk yogurt to smooth consistency and add the blended paste. If using chaat masala add it now.

Mix well and adjust salt, chili and sprinkle lemon juice if required. Serve with kebabs, snacks &amp; sandwiches.

Recipe 1 -  Mint Chutney for Kebabs &amp; Snacks

If using chana dal and urad dal dry roast them until golden in a pan. Add cumin seeds and roast lightly. Turn off and cool.

Optional - You can also saute pudina in oil for 2 to 3 mins first and use.

Add green chili, coconut, fried gram or dal, salt, ginger or garlic and mint to the blender jar. You can also skip coconut and use roasted peanuts.

Blend everything well. Add water little by little scrape off the sides.

Blend again until it reaches a desired texture. If adding lemon juice, add it now. Adjust salt and chili as needed.

Heat a pan with oil to temper pudina chutney.  Next add red chili, mustard and dals. Fry until dal turns golden. Add hing and switch off.

Add this to the chutney. Stir and serve pudina chutney with sandwich, idli, dosa or any other breakfast or snack.

Recipe 2 - South Indian Pudina Chutney

To a blender jar, add mint leaves, roasted cumin powder,ginger, green chilies, chaat masala and salt as needed.

You can also add some roasted fried gram or roasted peanuts if you prefer the chutney thick &amp; smooth.

Squeeze in the lemon juice. Blend them well adding 1 to 2 tbsps water as needed.

Make a fine smooth Mint chutney.
