Oreo Balls - Oreo Truffles

(8 oz) pkg. cream cheese, (softened)

chocolate

See notes for peppermint variation

Line an 18 by 13-inch baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper.

Place 36 Oreos in a food processor (entire cookie, don't remove cream filling) and pulse too fine crumbs.*

Add cream cheese and pulse in bursts until well combined**.

Scoop mixture out about 1 Tbsp at a time and form into 1 inch balls then align on prepared cookie sheet.&nbsp;

Place truffles in freezer for 15 minutes. Meanwhile crush remaining 3 Oreos.

Melt almond bark or chocolate according to directions on package.&nbsp;

Remove truffles from freezer and dip in melted chocolate and use a spoon to pour some chocolate over the top then lift and allow excess chocolate to run off.&nbsp;

Return to baking sheet, immediately sprinkle tops with crushed Oreos if desired, then allow chocolate to set.&nbsp;

Store in an airtight container in refrigerator.

Oreo Truffles

Place the Oreos in a food processor and blend until fine crumbs are formed.

Mix in the cream cheese until a sticky dough has formed.

Roll about 1- 1 ½ tablespoons of dough into a ball and set aside on a plate or in a container that you can fit in the freezer. Freeze the balls for at least 30 minutes.

Place the white melting chocolate in a small microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until melted.

Cover a baking sheet with wax paper. Remove Oreo balls from the freezer. Drop them into the chocolate and roll them around carefully with a fork.

There is likely one part that is flatter, which was the bottom of the ball when it sat in the freezer. Slide the fork underneath the flatter part and lift. Slide the bottom of the fork across the edge of the bowl to let the excess chocolate drip off, then set it on top of the wax paper.

The chocolate sets pretty quickly from there. Once you've dipped them all, refrigerate for at least 10 minutes to set.

Dipping the Oreo Balls:

Melt the semi-sweet chocolate in a small bowl in the microwave, 30 seconds at a time.

Dip a fork into the melted chocolate and drizzle it over the Oreo balls. You may make a mess, but that’s part of the fun!

You can also top them with sprinkles or Oreo crumbs right after they’ve been dipped.

Oreo Truffle Balls

Reese’s Peanut Butter Oreo Truffles. Oreos, cream cheese, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Reese’s Pieces together in a bite-size, chocolate dipped treat.

Peanut Butter Oreo Truffles

Peanut Butter Oreos ((family size))

cream cheese (softened)

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

mini Reese's Pieces

Ghirardelli Melting Wafers ((dark or milk chocolate))

In a stand mixer or with a hand mixer, beat Oreos and cream cheese together for 2 minutes. Add in the Reese&#039;s Peanut Butter Cups and beat until smooth. Fold in the Reese&#039;s Pieces.

Refrigerate the truffle mixture for an hour.

After refrigerating, roll the truffle mixture into 1 1/4 inch balls. Freeze the balls for 30 minutes.

Melt the Ghirardelli wafers in a microwave safe bowl for about 30 seconds. Stir and melt in 10 second intervals until the chocolate is smooth.

Using a fork or a dipping tool, dip the frozen truffle balls in the chocolate, covering completely. Allow the chocolate to drip then place them on a piece of parchment paper to set. While the chocolate is still wet, garnish the tops with additional Reese&#039;s Pieces.

Allow the chocolate on the truffles to set completely. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

These easy no-bake oreo truffles are a great dessert to make as a gift to friends and family.

Pulse the oreos in a food processor until crushed into small crumbs.

Add the cream cheese and process until you get a big balled clump on one side that looks very shiny.

Use a medium cookie scoop to portion the mixture into 1 inch balls, then put the truffles on parchment paper and refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Place each kind of chocolate in small, microwaveable bowls, and microwave in 30 second intervals until melted.

Dip each truffle in whatever chocolate you desire, then place back onto the parchment paper. Decorate with sprinkles, if desired.

Wait to enjoy until the chocolate has hardened. Here are three methods with approximate timing: 1) set at room temperature for about a half hour 2) place in refrigerator for 10 minutes or 3) place in freezer for 3 minutes. Enjoy!

Rich and creamy Oreo Truffles made with just 3 ingredients - crushed Oreos, cream cheese and melted chocolate. The easiest no-bake dessert!

300 g Oreos

Crush Oreos until they resemble fine crumbs (set aside 2 tbs of crumbs to sprinkle on top).

Mix Oreo crumbs with the cream cheese.

Roll into 1 inch sized balls and place on a tray lined with baking paper. If the mixture is too soft to roll into balls, place into the freezer for 20 minutes and then roll into balls. Place onto a baking paper lined tray and freeze for a further 20 minutes.

Place chocolate in microwaveable bowl and microwave on 50% power for 2-3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, or until chocolate is completely melted.

Place the truffles into the bowl of melted chocolate (in batches) and use two forks (or small spoons) to roll the truffles around until they are completely coated.

Remove truffles and allow any excess chocolate to drip off (see recipe notes below).

Place the truffles back onto the baking paper lined tray and decorate with the extra crushed Oreos (optional).

Place into the fridge to set for 20 minutes or until set.

Conventional Method

Place Oreos into the TM bowl and crush on Turbo until they resemble fine crumbs (set aside 2 tbs of crumbs to sprinkle on top).

Add the cream cheese and mix on Reverse Speed 2 until well combined (scraping down the sides of the bowl occasionally).

Place chocolate into a clean TM bowl and melt on 50 degrees, Speed 3, 2-3 minutes, scraping the sides occasionally.

Pour the melted chocolate into a bowl.

Place Oreo cookies in a food processor. Pulse until they are fine cookie crumbs.&nbsp;

Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, beat the cream cheese until it is smooth, about 1 minute. Add the Oreo cookie crumbs and mix until well combined.&nbsp;

Roll the Oreo mixture into small balls and place on a baking sheet or tray that has been lined with parchment paper or wax paper. Freeze the Oreo balls for 15 minutes.&nbsp;

Place the chocolate wafers (or candy coating) in a small microwave safe bowl. Place the white chocolate wafers (or candy coating) in a separate small microwave safe bowl. Melt according to instructions on packaging.&nbsp;

Remove the balls from the freezer and dip the balls into the melted chocolate. Make sure you cover the balls completely in chocolate. I like to use a fork to shake the excess chocolate off of the Oreo balls. Dip half of the balls in the chocolate and half in the white chocolate. Place the dipped balls back on the baking tray with parchment paper or wax paper. Decorate with a drizzle of chocolate, additional crushed Oreos, sprinkles, crushed peppermint or crushed nuts, if desired.&nbsp;

Place the baking sheet with the Oreo balls in the refrigerator and chill for at least an hour. Keep stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The Oreo balls will keep in the fridge for up to 3 weeks. You can also freeze the balls for up to 2 months.&nbsp;

Back-to-School Apple Shaped Oreo Truffles

Oreo cookies ((one family size package))

cream cheese, (softened to room temperature)

½ Tablespoon salted butter, (softened to room temperature)

vanilla extract

red candy melts ((2-8 ounce bags))

premade green fondant

pretzel sticks

Place Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until Oreos become fine crumbs.

Add the softened cream cheese, softened butter and vanilla to the Oreo crumbs and blend together. (you may need to scrape down the bowl as you blend because the mixture can get caught and be sticky).

Chill the Oreo truffle mix for 10 minutes in the freezer, this allows you to form the Oreo balls a little easier.

Use a 1-inch cookie scoop to measure out the Oreo truffles, then roll each into a ball and place them on a baking sheet lined with wax paper.

Make a very small indent to the top of each ball, like you would see on an apple where the stem would be. ​​

Then break each pretzel stick in half and push the broken ends into each of the indented Oreo truffle balls. (Make sure to leave enough at the top to allow you to dip the truffles in chocolate later.)

Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 20 minutes.

While the truffles are chilling, roll out the green fondant and use a leaf shaped cookie cutter or knife to cut out tiny leaves for the apples. Set these aside.

In a microwave safe bowl, melt the red candy melts according to the package directions.

Remove the truffles from the freezer and begin to coat in red chocolate.

Work in batches and make sure to add the fondant leaves to each apple before they harden.

Once you cover all of the truffles and assemble the apples, put them in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes to fully harden.

Then print and cut out gift tags. I prefer to print these out on card stock.

Place truffles in bags and tie them up for the perfect gift!

Make Oreo mixture

Place the Oreos in a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. Add the cream cheese and pulse until smooth. (Alternatively, you can crush cookies in a ziplock bag and mix in the cream cheese by hand). Transfer mixture to a bowl and cover it. Place in the fridge for about 1 hour.

Scoop into balls

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (or wax paper). Take the truffle mixture out of the fridge. Use a 1-inch cookie scoop to scoop mixture and roll into 1-inch balls. Place balls on prepared baking sheet and transfer to the freezer for 30 minutes or until firm.

Melt chocolate

Melt the chocolate in a makeshift double boiler (see notes for microwave instructions). Place chocolate in a heat-safe glass bowl over a pot of simmering water. Gently stir until chocolate is completely melted.

Dip truffles

Remove truffles from freezer. Using dipping tools or two forks to dip a truffle in the melted chocolate and coat evenly. Gently tap off the excess chocolate on the side of the bowl and return truffle to the tray. Immediately add sprinkles if desired. Repeat with remaining truffles.

Serve

Serve immediately or store the truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.

No Bake Oreo Balls without Cream Cheese

Double-Stuffed Oreos (one 15.25 ounce package)

Place the Oreos in a food processor or blender and pulse to fine crumbs. You can also crush the cookies in a ziplock bag.

Add the butter and sweetened condensed milk to the cookie crumbs and mix until well blended.

Use a small (1-inch) cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion the Oreo mixture, pressing the Oreos firmly into the scoop. Place the ball into your hand and gently roll it into a ball.

Place the cookie balls on a parchment-lined tray or cookie sheet. Once all of the balls have been formed, put the cookie sheet into the freezer for 1 hour.

After an hour, melt the melting wafers according to package directions. Work with one ball at a time, placing it into the melted chocolate, rolling to coat the ball. Use a fork to remove the ball from the chocolate and let the excess chocolate drip off.

Place the coated ball back onto the cookie sheet. If you are using sprinkles, shake over the Oreo ball immediately before the chocolate sets. If you are decorating with chocolate drizzle, wait for the chocolate to harden before drizzling additional chocolate over the balls.

Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes,or until ready to serve.

Start by crushing the Oreos. The best way to crush Oreos is in a food processor or in a blender. If you don’t have a food processor or a blender, place the Oreos in a ziplock bag and smash them with a cup until fine crumbs form.

Transfer the Oreos to a medium-sized bowl and set aside.

Add the room temperature cream cheese into a big mixing bowl, and mix with an electric hand mixer for 2-3 minutes or until the cream cheese is creamy and silky.

Add the oreo crumbs to the cream cheese and mix until well combined.

Use a small cookie scoop to scoop out the oreo balls (or about 1 tbsp). Roll them into balls using your hands and place them onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

Freeze the balls for about 20 minutes so they will not crumble when you dip them into the chocolate.

Melt the chocolate and mix it until it’s smooth and silky without any lumps. Place each oreo on a fork or a spoon and gently dip it into the melted chocolate. Use a spoon to drizzle more chocolate on top.

Drizzle the melted chocolate with another spoon until it’s nicely coated, and then tap the excess chocolate by tapping the fork or the spoon on the side of the bowl.

Carefully place each oreo ball onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. I like to use a small skewer to help place the oreo balls on the baking sheet.

If you are using oreo crumbs for decoration, immediately sprinkle the crumbs on top of the oreo balls so the crumbs will stick to the chocolate.

Place the chocolate-coated oreo balls in the fridge to firm up for about 30 minutes.

Serve these as is or drizzle melted chocolate on top of the oreo balls. We like to drizzle white chocolate on the semisweet chocolate-covered oreo balls, and semisweet chocolate on the white chocolate-covered oreo balls.

To a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, add the heavy cream and milk. Bring to a light simmer.

Remove the pan from the heat and add the chocolate chips, but do not stir! Let them sit for 5 minutes, then whisk to combine.

Add the cocoa powder, cookie crumbs, and salt; whisk to combine.

Pour the mixture into a heat-safe bowl and place in the refrigerator to chill for at least 6 hours.

Using a small cookie scoop, portion out the truffle mixture and roll it between your palms to form 36 round balls. Arrange them on the prepared baking sheet.

Place the sheet of truffles in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

Melt the melting wafers in a deep cup or bowl and use a dipping tool or fork to dip the truffles in the chocolate then place them on a clean sheet of wax paper on a cookie sheet and allow to cool until set.

Store balls in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.
