This Pan-Fried Tilapia recipe from is great for a quick dinner any day of the week.

Pan-Fried Tilapia

c. all-purpose flour

garlic powder

onion powder

chili powder

cumin

(6-oz.) tilapia filets

Kosher salt

black pepper

cilantro leaves,

Lime wedges,

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and cumin. Whisk to combine.

Season tilapia filets generously with salt and pepper, then dip each in flour mixture, shaking off any excess flour. Place on a clean plate or baking sheet.

In a large, nonstick skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add 2 filets and cook 3 to 4 minutes per side, until crust is golden and fish flakes easily with a fork. Repeat with remaining filets.

Serve immediately with cilantro and lime wedges.

Great recipe, definitely up the spices. I also used a little but of Colombian corn flour for the crust. I also made a white wine, olive oil and garlic sauce to fry the fish rather than just the oil. I served with yellow squash and white rice.

Best way to make Talapia taste great. I used lots of Tajin Clasico with lime seasoning.  Nice and crunchy and  lots of flavor..  i used Kirkland frozen Talapia and thawed before cooking.

Great result! This was simple and wonderful flavor.  I halfed the recipe for two large filets, and there was enough to do a couple more.  I liked the flavor, but I’m willing to half the flour and keep seasoning the same for a full batch.  Nice texture.

Loved the fish!  I fried the 2 pounds of fresh tilapia in Sciabica’s lemon olive oil and regular olive oil.  My husband said it was very good, so we’ll be eating this again.

Make these Easy Fish Tacos for a quick weeknight dinner. This simple recipe combines baked or pan-fried tilapia with a blackened seasoning mix, a crunchy veggie slaw, and then avocado crema to finish. Simply delicious.

Easy Fish Tacos with Avocado Crema

tilapia (- patted dry)

Tablespoon cumin

Tablespoon smoked paprika

red pepper flakes

cayenne pepper *HOT* (beware!) (- optional)

cabbage (- finely shredded)

red onion (- diced)

Tablespoons rice wine vinegar

avocado

sour cream (- light is fine,

lime (- freshly squeezed)

hot sauce (- optional)

corn or flour tortillas

In a small bowl, combine the spices - cumin, red pepper flakes, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (HOT!), salt and pepper. Pat dry the tilapia and rub the spice mixture on both sides of the fish.

Cover the fish and refrigerate it for at least two hours.

If Baking: Lay fish on baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 450 degrees for approximately 8-10 minutes, or until fish flakes easily. Baking time will depend on thickness of fish. After baking, top each filet with a teaspoon of butter.

If Pan Frying: Heat a cast iron skillet to medium high heat, and heat up one tablespoon of oil. Add two pieces of tilapia at a time, and cook on both sides until the fish flakes easily with a fork. This should take about two minutes per side. Repeat for remaining fish.

For the fish:

Mix the cabbage, red onion, radish, jalapeño, cilantro, and rice wine vinegar. Set aside. (This can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator.)

For the veggie slaw:

Using a food processor, combine the avocado, sour cream, cilantro, garlic salt, lime juice, and hot sauce. Whip until creamy. Don't prepare this too far in advance of serving.

For the crema:

Heat up tortillas in microwave by laying them on a slightly damp paper towel.&nbsp;

Arrange tacos. On warm tortillas, layer a generous piece of tilapia, topped with veggie slaw, and avocado crema. Optional toppings include cotija cheese, jalapenos, and hot sauce. Serve immediately.

Prepare the Tilapia

Pat 4 tilapia fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with garlic powder, sea salt, and black pepper. Set aside.

Heat the Pan

Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes, until hot but not smoking.

Cook the Tilapia
