Simply Nature Organic Salsa,

Thinly slice the green onion, red pepper and orange pepper. In a small bowl, mix the black beans and sliced vegetables with chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder and kosher salt.

Spread hummus in a thin layer with 1/4” around the edge of each tortilla.  Place half of the spinach in a layer in the middle of each tortilla. Place the peppers in a line on one side, and the black beans in a line on the other side (see the photo). Sprinkle half of the cheese on each tortilla.

Tightly roll up the tortilla, keeping it as tight as possible and rolling smoothly at the end (don&#8217;t worry if a little bit falls out!). Slice off the ends and either eat or discard; then slice the remainder into 8 pieces. Serve immediately with salsa (optional) or refrigerate until serving. They&#8217;re perfect for lunches.

This pinwheel recipe is the ultimate finger food! These tortilla roll ups are perfect for entertaining and endlessly customizable. 

Easy Pinwheel Recipe

(5 ounces) fresh baby spinach leaves spinach

flour tortillas

cream cheese goat cheese

tomatoes red peppers

basil

oregano

mozzarella cheese

Cook the spinach

Place the spinach leaves in a skillet with 1/4 cup water. Heat over medium heat for a few minutes until the spinach completely wilts down, about 2 to 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the spinach to a bowl. Add cold water to instantly cool it, then squeeze out as much water as possible. Finely chop the spinach. (If using frozen spinach, defrost it, squeeze out the liquid and finely chop it.) 

Chop the filling ingredients

Chop the sundried tomatoes or bell peppers. 

Make the filling

To a medium bowl, add the spinach, sundried tomatoes, cream cheese or goat cheese, basil, oregano, garlic powder, and salt. Mix it until it comes together into a smooth filling (we found it’s easiest to use clean hands to help break up clumps). Taste and add a pinch of salt if desired.

Roll the pinwheels

Place a tortilla on a cutting board, and spread it with 1/3 cup of the filling. Sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of the shredded mozzarella cheese. Roll up the tortilla very tightly, making sure to keep the roll very tight at the beginning (to avoid a hole in the middle!). Repeat for all tortillas. Refrigerate in a sealed container for at least 2 hours to allow the filling to set. Slice off the ends of the rolls and discard, then slice into 3/4-inch slices to make pinwheels. They last up to 3 days refrigerated, but they taste best day of because the tortillas become softer over time.

(8-oz.) tube crescent roll dough

Delicious! My family was impressed. Every oven is different and I had to bake mine longer. We had no swiss so i used cheddar. The dijon.fresh parsley .Cheddar cheese and buttery flavors were great.

I made this recipe and my family loved it. Thinking about making it tonight. I didn't use Swiss cheese or the poppy seeds. I didn't have any problems with it being soggy though.

Way too many adjustments needed. Too much ham, too much cheese, too much butter, not enough baking time. Waste of time and expensive ingredients.

I read what several other said about these being soggy so I only used 6 slices of cheese (1-1/2 slices per roll), 3 super thin slices Virginia ham per roll and very little butter/garlic mixture. I also cut each roll into 4.  Baked on a 9 x 13 baking sheet with space between each.  They turned out just fine.  Would make them again if my family likes them.

I cooked them for 20 minutes and they never got crispy mmm mushy just how NO ONE LIKES THEM

I made these today and left out the dijon mustard and only added parsley and poppy seeds to some of the rolls since I have a very picky 11 year old. I also noticed that they were not ready at 15 mins. So I left them in for about 15 more mins. and that did the trick. I did leave a small space in between the rolls, they were pretty tasty.

What would be the best way to reheat refrigerated leftovers? I don't like using the microwave to reheat ham. It dries out. 

Should I pop them back in the oven at the same temp. they baked in for a few minutes?

Just made these last night, shared with a neighbor......wonderful.....but didn't use poppy seeds, and used TWO cookie sheets, so they were spread out better, came out really crisp. Will make these again!! HINT: use quality swiss and ham

Hi it’s delicious looking and I’m going to try it and I hope it taste real good with a glass of wine with a bunch of friends in the afternoon between lunch and shopping and getting together and enjoying the day Irene

These were tasty, but 350 degrees won’t bake them in 12-15 minutes. I had to leave them in the oven for several minutes longer in order for them to get golden and not mushy. I will try 375 next time. Flavor was great, but I agree with previous reviews that you don’t need 4 T. butter. Could easily get by with 2. I’m giving them 4 stars because of the wrong baking temp.

Spinach and Feta Pinwheel Salmon

This cream cheese chicken pinwheel recipe is the ultimate finger food, tortilla roll ups are perfect for entertaining.

Bacon Ranch Chicken Pinwheels

cream cheese (, softened)

dry ranch mix

sharp cheddar cheese (, finely shredded)

milk

Worcestershire sauce

chicken (, shredded or chopped)

bacon (, cooked and crumbled)

scallions (, chopped)

10- inch flour tortillas

Blend together the cream cheese, ranch mix, cheese, milk, Worcestershire sauce and salt until fully mixed.

Add the chicken, bacon and scallions, folding by hand.

Evenly divide the spread between 4 flour tortillas. Spread out evenly all the way to the edges. Roll the tortilla tightly and wrap in plastic wrap to help it keep its shape.

Refrigerate for 30-60 minutes to reform.

Using a sharp knife or a serrated knife, cut into 1-inch slices. Discard the ends with no filling that are uneven.

This pinwheel recipe has become my go-to appetizer for every party! These colorful tortilla roll-ups are loaded with Italian-inspired flavors and look absolutely stunning on any party platter.

These smoked salmon pinwheels are the perfect party appetizer. And they're made deliciously gluten-free and grain-free thanks to cassava flour tortillas.

Herbed Chevre, Spinach and Smoked Salmon Pinwheel

Preheat oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit.

Chop the top off the head of garlic, exposing each of the garlic cloves. Remove excess white skin on the outside of the garlic head. Place the garlic on a sheet of aluminum foil and drizzle olive oil on the exposed cloves. Wrap the garlic up with the aluminum foil and place in the middle of the oven, cooking for 40-60 minutes. The garlic is done when the cloves are soft and buttery.

While the garlic is cooking, make the cassava flour tortilla recipe. Make 3 large tortillas (approx 9 inches round).

Combine the chevre, chives, peeled garlic cloves, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl. Stir together, breaking up the garlic and mixing well.

To assemble the pinwheels spread a thin coat of the chevre on a tortilla. Lay the spinach leaves flat in a single layer on half the tortilla. Place thin slices of the smoked salmon on top of the spinach. Roll the pinwheel, starting with the salmon side.

Repeat the assembly process with the other two tortillas.

With a sharp knife, slice off approximately 1 inch from both ends of each tortilla. Enjoy these little samples yourself! Slice the rest of the tortilla into 1 inch sections. You should get 7 pinwheels from each tortilla.

Place the pinwheels on a serving platter and serve immediately.

I'm coming back to this recipe every year with my birthday! This is our family-favourite, everyone always love the combination of the salmon and the fresh chives. It's also a good looking appetizer.
