Mangú (Mashed plantains)

Peeling

Peeling: Peel the plantains (see how-to) and cut lengthwise, then divide each half into two. Remove the center where the seeds are located (optional, this is just my preference for a smoother mangú).

Boiling

Boiling: Boil the plantains in enough water to cover them plus an inch until they are very tender, having added the salt to the water before the water breaks the boil.

Mashing

Mashing: Remove the plantains from the water and mash them right away with a fork until they are very smooth and there are few to no lumps (be careful not to burn yourself). Mix in olive oil, and water at room temperature and keep mashing and mixing until it turns into a smooth puree.

Cooking onions

Cooking onions: Heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet over low heat. Add onions and cook and stir until they become translucent. Pour in vinegar and season with salt to taste.

Serving

Serving: Garnish mangu with the onions and serve with sunny-side-up eggs or Dominican scrambled eggs, Dominican fried cheese, or fried slices of Dominican salami.

Preparar un puding no es demasiado complicado, pero hacerlo en el microondas además de fácil y rápido tiene garantías de éxito asegurado. La receta que te proponemos

Pudin de plátano y galleta en el microondas

plátanos maduros

huevos

> 12 galletas tipo Maria

> 6 cucharadas de azúcar

> 300 mililitros de leche

> 50 mililitros de agua

> 100 gramos de azúcar blanco

2. En un bol casca los huevos, y pon la leche, el azúcar, los trozos de plátano y bate con unas varillas.

3. Trocea las galletas, añade al bol y sigue batiendo hasta conseguir una mezcla homogénea.

4. En un recipiente pequeño de cristal, pon los ingredientes para el caramelo y programa el microondas a máxima potencia durante un minuto. Luego remueve y programa otro minuto. Deja que pierda un poco de temperatura y vierte el caramelo en el molde que vayas a utilizar, tratando que quede cubierta la base.

5. Vierte la mezcla del bol sobre el molde y pon el microondas. programa durante 9 minutos. Haz la prueba del palillo y si ya está deja enfriar antes de desmoldar y servir.
