These protein donuts are made with almond flour, vanilla protein powder and naturally sweetened with maple syrup. They&#039;re fluffy, easy to make and absolutely delicious topped with chocolate icing. Gluten-free + dairy-free.

Protein Donuts

almond flour

vanilla protein powder

baking powder

sea salt

maple syrup (at room temperature)

eggs (at room temperature)

coconut oil (melted)

almond milk (at room temperature)

vanilla extract

cocoa powder

½ Tablespoon maple syrup (at room temperature)

Tablespoon unsweetened almond milk (at room temperature)

vanilla

Rainbow sprinkles (for topping)

Preheat

In a medium bowl, add the flour, protein, baking powder and salt and stir until combined.

Combine

Add maple syrup, eggs, coconut oil, almond milk and vanilla extract to the same bowl and mix until just combined.

Spoon batter

Spray two (6-cavity) donut pans with cooking spray. Spoon or pipe batter evenly into the 12 cavities.

Bake

Bake for 10 minutes, or until donuts spring back when lightly pressed. Cool in pan for 2 minutes. Invert donuts onto a wire rack.

Make icing

While donuts are cooling, make icing by combining cocoa powder, maple syrup, coconut oil, almond milk and vanilla in a small mixing bowl.

Frost

Once donuts have cooled completely, frost donuts and decorate with sprinkles (if using) and then place them on a wire rack for the glaze to firm up.

Store

Store leftovers at room temperature for 2-3 days. For longer storage, place donuts in an airtight container and store in the fridge for 4-5 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

These easy baked protein donuts are soft, fluffy and chocolatey and you only need 4 ingredients! Top with peanut butter or melted chocolate and there you have your new favourite healthy snack! They&#39;re gluten-free, oil-free, refined sugar-free and can be vegan too!

Baked Protein Donuts

80 g Oat Flour (blended oats)

70 g Protein Powder (vegan

250 g Milk (use dairy-free for vegan)

+ ½ tsp Baking Powder

Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C / 350°F fan) and grease a donut tray.

Combine oat flour, protein powder and baking powder in a bowl.

Add in the milk and mix until well combined.

Divide the mixture evenly between 6 donut holes, they should be filled right to the rim.

Bake for 15 minutes and carefully remove them from the moulds.

Put some peanut butter or melted chocolate on a plate and place the donuts on it, one by one, to cover the tops.

With 12g of protein, these delicious protein donuts make a fabulous keto snack. Tender and sweet, these baked vanilla donuts are easy to make and fun to eat!

Keto Protein Donuts Recipe

Greek yogurt

eggs

tbsp avocado oil ((or melted butter... not hot))

tsp vanilla extract

unflavored whey protein powder ((protein isolate preferred))

Swerve Granular

tsp baking powder

tsp salt

water

cream cheese (well softened)

tbsp butter (well softened)

Swerve Confectioners

heavy cream

keto sprinkles (if desired)

Preheat the oven to 350ºF and grease 8 wells of a donut pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together the the yogurt, eggs, oil, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Add the almond flour, whey protein, sweetener, baking powder, and salt and whisk until smooth. Add just enough water until you have a thick but pourable consistency.

Divide the batter between the wells of the donut pan, filling to about three quarters full. Bake 10 to 15 minutes, until the tops are just firm to the touch. Let cool in the pan.

Donuts

In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter together until very smooth. Beat in the powdered sweetener.

Beat in the cream until you have a spreadable consistency, then beat in the vanilla extract. Spread over the tops of the cooled donuts.

Sprinkle with sugar-free sprinkles, if desired.

Just made these!  They are delicious!  Semi-sweet, moist and sturdy.  Love this recipe!

I love these!  I used the full 4T of water, and ended up with batter that was eminently pourable.  Not only did I get 12 (!) donuts, I got 10 mini-muffins as well! I used orange extract instead of vanilla, and made a chocolate orange frosting by swapping out the vanilla for orange, and reducing the Swerve confectioner's by 2T for 2T of cocoa powder. (I like my chocolate on the bittersweet side. :) )

We loved the fluffy texture of these donuts.  Recipe made 10 in my donut pan requiring cooking in batches.  Frosting recipe was more than adequate amount, I had a good bit left over.  I greased my pan with butter and the donuts didn't stick much at all.

this is the best keto protein snack I've found. fluffy, tasty, not high calorie. I made them with sour cream and olive oil and I didn't need any water. baked them in mini donut pans for 9 minutes (I had to use 2, total of 15 mini donuts). 

I work out and hate buying protein bars so these are very convenient.

would love to-go protein snack recipes that use monk fruit drops for those of us who have to go very light on the sugar alcohols! (just as a courtesy to all around me)
