Honey Garlic Salmon (5 Ingredients, 15 Minutes)

tbsp honey

soy sauce (all purpose or light soy sauce)

vinegar

garlic

salmon

Olive oil

Salt and pepper

Sesame seeds

chives

Take salmon out of the fridge 20 minutes before cooking. Pat salmon skin dry with a paper towel and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Whisk together the Sauce ingredients in a small bowl.

Drizzle oil in a non stick fry pan and heat over medium high heat (or just under, if your stove runs hot). Place salmon in the pan, and cook the first side for 3 - 4 minutes until golden. Turn, then cook the other side for 2 - 3 minutes or until golden.

Pour Sauce over salmon. Cook for 1 minute or until it starts to thicken slightly. Check the side of the salmon to tell how cooked through the middle is - I like mine medium rare inside. (Note 1). If Sauce thickens too much before your salmon is cooked to your taste, just add water 1 tbsp at a time.

Remove onto serving plates.

Serve salmon drizzled with Sauce, sprinkled with sesame seeds and chives/shallots, if desired.

In a small bowl combine paprika, cumin, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, chili powder and black pepper.

Cut salmon fillets into 4 equal pieces, about 6 ounces in weight each.

Season each side of the fillet with 1 teaspoon of the blackening seasoning mix, 2 teaspoons total.

Heat a large stainless steel or cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot add the oil.

Place salmon fillets in the pan and cook until lightly charred and crisp, 2 to 3 minutes.

Flip and cook until the flesh flakes easily, 1 to 2 minutes.

Transfer to a plate, serve with lime wedge and sprinkle with parsley.

How to Make Blackened Salmon

Recipe video above. This is a simple-yet-luxurious, cheffy way to cook salmon. By basting continuously with foaming garlic butter, it seeps into every crack and crevice of the salmon and gives it the ultimate buttery crust.It may seem like a lot of butter for one recipe, but you need it to ensure good basting coverage. You do not have to use all of it for serving. Save leftover butter (even if just a smear!) and pan fry bread with it tomorrow, see post for photos. It&#039;s Amazing – with a capital A!

Garlic Butter Salmon recipe

tsp salt (, cooking / kosher)

Season salmon: Take salmon out of fridge 30 minutes prior to cooking. Sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper.

Sear salmon 3 mins: Heat oil in large non stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add salmon, presentation side (ie. curved side) down, and cook for 3 minutes until golden.

Turn, cook 1 min, then add butter: Turn salmon and cook the other side for 1 minute. THEN put the butter in.

Baste 1 1/2 minutes: Once butter is melted and foaming, add garlic and immediately start spooning the bubbling butter continuously over the salmon for 1 1/2 minutes. To do this, tilt the pan slightly so the butter pools on one side. Use a large spoon to scoop the butter up and spoon it over the salmon.

Remove salmon from stove: Check Internal temperature of salmon. It should be 50°C/122°F for medium-rare (optimum juiciness pull temp). Remove salmon to a plate. Rest for 3 minutes – it will rise to 53°C/127°F.  (See Note 2 for internal temperatures)

Add lemon juice to butter: Put pan back on unlit stove to keep butter hot. Add lemon juice.

Serve: Place salmon on serving plates. Spoon over butter (be judicious, it&#039;s rich!), garnish with a sprinkle of parsley. Pictured in the post with Cauliflower Mash and leafy greens with French Vinaigrette.

Set the oven on broil and move the top rack down about 6 inches from the heat source. Cut the salmon fillet into individual portions. And place on a rimmed baking sheet.

Brush olive oil over the top of each portion. Then salt and pepper generously.

Broil for 5-8 minutes, depending on the thickness of the salmon. (It’s better to undercook the salmon a little, rather than overcook.)

Meanwhile, mix the melted butter, lemon juice, parsley, dill, and garlic.

Once the salmon comes out of the oven, brush the tops with the herb butter, then serve warm.

Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and set it aside.

Add the paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, brown sugar, thyme, and oregano to a small bowl and use a fork to mix all the spices together.

Rinse the salmon and pat it dry with paper towels. Using a pastry brush, coat the flesh side of each salmon piece with melted butter. Season the salmon with the cajun spice blend and use your fingers to pat the spices into the fish.

Transfer the salmon to the lined sheet pan and cook in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then turn on the oven broiler and cook for 2 more minutes.

Serve the salmon immediately with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice!
