Everyone needs to know how to make red sangria. It's super refreshing, full of ALL the best fruit, and it's the perfect ratio of wine to brandy. We'll be drinking our not-to-sweet version all summer long.

Does it need more sugar if you use blackberry brandy?

I've been using this receipe with blackberry brandy and it's always a hit with family and friends. Excellent.  Great for bbqs.

Great basic Sangria! I like the selzer and I like that this recipe isn't overly sweet. I use a box wine like Franzia because if you are doctoring it up with sugar, there is no need for an expensive wine. Franzia and others make a Sangria box wine. It's nice to use a clear jug if you have one as this is so pretty on the table. Definitely make the day before and refrigerate overnight to let the fruit steep. I really do like to add some fresh lemon to the fruit.

Made this for a party too! Making 2 pitchers this time! I only used strawberries and blueberries though.

You'll Be Drinking This Sangria All Year Long

Simply and Fruity Red Wine Sangria. Made with fresh fruit, red wine, brandy and pomegranate juice. Perfect Fall or Winter cocktail.

Red Wine Sangria

sugar

water

red dry table wine

brandy

pomegranate juice

apple (sliced)

orange (sliced)

strawberries (sliced)

Add sugar and water to a small saucepan. Over medium high heat bring the mixture to a boil. Cook until sugar is fully dissolved. Allow to cool.

Add red wine, brandy, pomegranate juice, apples, oranges, and strawberries to a large pitcher.

Add in cooled simple syrup and stir. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or for best results overnight.

Strawberry Orange Sangria is a refreshing cocktail made with sweet red wine, fresh strawberries, orange juice and a splash of rum. 

Strawberry Orange Sangria

(1.5 liter bottle sweet red sangria wine)

orange juice

spiced or white rum

strawberries

orange

limes (sliced in circles)

lemon

fruit

Slice oranges, limes and lemons in circles.

Hull strawberries and slice in half.

Add fruit to a 1 gallon pitcher.

Pour rum over the fruit and let sit for 10 minutes.

Pour orange juice over fruit in pitcher. 

Add wine until you get at least 2 inches from the top of pitcher. 

Stir well and refrigerate overnight if possible. If not, serve immediately. 

Pour sangria over glasses filled with ice. Add fruit into glasses. 

Garnish rims with a lime or orange wedge. 

The best fall drink recipe is a single serving fall sangria infused with brandy, triple sec, orange juice, and a hint of cinnamon. Completely irresistible!

Fall Sangria For One

dry red wine

triple sec

agave nectar

Optional garnishes: orange slices, apple slices, pear slices, cinnamon stick, fresh cranberries, fresh rosemary sprig.

In a wine glass, add the red wine, orange juice, brandy, triple sec, and agave. Stir well.

Pour in the ice and add a few slices of fruit, fresh cranberries, and a cinnamon stick.

Enjoy immediately.

Chill in the refrigerator for at least a couple hours. Overnight or one to two days for best flavor.

Pour the soda in just before serving over ice.

Add your sliced apples, oranges, cranberries, to a large pitcher or punch bowl.

Add in your wine, cranberry juice, apple cider, lemon juice and honey to the pitcher and stir well. Place rosemary sprig and cinnamon sticks on top for garnish.

Place in the refrigerator to chill for at least an hour or overnight before serving.

Serve and enjoy!

In a large pitcher, combine the wine, brandy, triple sec, orange juice, and brown sugar to taste. Stir in the cinnamon stick, orange slices, and apple pieces.

Refrigerate until ready to serve, preferably 2-4 hours.

Stir and taste before serving. If too sweet or strong in flavor, add the ½ cup water. Alternatively serve the sangria over ice, which will help it achieve the perfect strength and sweetness.
