Simple, wholesome and full of flavor, these Classic Baked Chicken Pieces are coated in a smoky seasoning blend and roasted up tender and juicy!

Classic Baked Chicken Pieces

Olive oil

salt, (or to taste)

black pepper

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

garlic powder

onion powder

thyme

oregano

Chopped fresh parsley, (for garnish)

Preheat oven to 400˚F.

Take chicken out of the fridge 20 minutes before you’re ready to cook.

Lightly grease a baking sheet or a baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.

Pat dry the chicken pieces with paper towels.

Grease chicken pieces with cooking spray or a drizzle of olive oil.

In a small mixing bowl combine salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onions powder, thyme, and oregano; mix to combine.

Sprinkle chicken pieces with the prepared seasoning; rub it all around.

Transfer chicken to previously prepared baking dish, and arrange them chicken skin-side up. Leave a little bit of space in between the chicken pieces.

Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes.

Lower temperature to 350˚F, and continue to cook for 10 to 20 more minutes, or until internal temperature of the chicken registers at 165˚F. I highly recommend to use an Instant Read Meat Thermometer for accuracy.

If you’d like a crispier browned skin, place chicken under the broiler the last 3 to 5 minutes.

Remove from oven.

Transfer chicken pieces to a serving plate.

Tent a piece of foil over the chicken and let rest for 8 to 10 minutes before cutting.

Garnish with parsley and serve.

Just as the name suggests, chicken thighs simply roasted in oven.

Pat the chicken thighs with a paper towel.

Sprinkle salt and black pepper over each.

Drizzle olive oil over them and rub well.

Place thighs in a baking pan. Toss rosemary leaves and garlic in the pan.

Bake for 30 minutes. Reduce the heat to 375F (190C) and bake for 20 minutes more until tender when poked with a knife.

Remove from oven and cover with aluminum foil until serving time.

Garnish with fresh rosemary leaves when serving.

Just made this tonight using a whole, cut up chicken fryer and followed your cooking directions. Was so tender and juicy delicious! I didn't have any whole garlic so I used some garlic salt and seasonings. Added some whole, organic carrots and celery which roasted nicely alongside the poultry. Could have added some small golden potatoes too.

I made this tonight and wasn't disappointed in any way!! Super easy and Super Delicious!!  I did add fresh lemon juice and a layer of sliced lemons under chicken pieces!!!!

Delicious. Son loves chicken thighs. I do mix seasonings with butter/olive oil and put the mixture under skins. Thanks for the recipe.

These will be a perfect appetizer on Christmas day. My son loves chicken wings and I know he will flip over this flavor.

I made this tonight. It was very good. I used a little less garlic and broiled it for a couple of minutes.  Will make it again.

Finger-lickin' good oven fried chicken pieces, easy and economical, perfect for family night dinners, for company, and even Oktoberfest! It’s Brathendl, Oma-style!

Simple German Oven Fried Chicken – Oma's Brathendl (Hähnchen) 

(approx. 3 pound) chicken,

butter

paprika

Preheat oven

Trim chicken

Arrange chicken

Arrange chicken pieces, skin side down, in a single layer on stoneware cookie sheet, or on cookie rack on foil-lined cookie sheet.

Season and brush

Brush with butter (if using) and sprinkle seasoning salt and paprika all over. Turn pieces over, skin side up, and brush with butter (if using) and sprinkle seasoning salt and paprika all over. Do not cover chicken.

Bake chicken

Put on middle rack in oven and bake for 45 to 60 minutes or until internal temp is at least 165°F.
