Crunchy Roasted Chickpeas

15 chickpeas

½ tsp ground cumin

½ tsp smoked paprika

garlic powder

onion powder

¼ tsp ground corriander

sea salt

tsp black pepper

olive oil

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Lightly spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray. Set aside.

Rinse and thoroughly dry the chickpeas.

In a small bowl, mix together cumin, paprika, garlic powder, sea salt, onion powder and pepper. Set aside.

Bake dried chickpeas in the preheated oven on prepared baking sheet for 15 minutes (do not add any of the other ingredients yet)!

Remove the chickpeas from the oven and drizzle ½ TBS olive oil over the chickpeas, stirring until evenly coated. If necessary, slowly add more olive oil until all the chickpeas are lightly coated with olive oil.

Add spices to chickpeas and stir until evenly coated.

Bake at 400 for 10 more minutes, then stir.

Return stirred chickpeas to the oven and bake them for an additional 5-10 minutes, until desired crispiness is achieved (a total of 35-40 minutes of baking).

Turn off oven and crack the door a bit.  Let chickpeas cool in the oven to achieve maximum crispiness

Crunchy Roasted Chickpeas Recipe

These roasted chickpeas make such a delicious and healthy snack! They're perfectly seasoned, a bit spicy, and super easy to prepare. They're perfect for parties, snacking in front of the TV, road trips, and so much more!

Drain the canned chickpeas. Then dry them really well using a clean dishtowel. Just gently roll them between the dishtowel. You could also use paper towel.

In a medium bowl, toss the chickpeas with olive oil. We'll add the spices after baking because they have a tendency to burn. So don't worry about them for now.

Preheat your oven to 350 °F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the chickpeas on the baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes.

Then take the chickpeas out of the oven and place them in the bowl you used before. Add the spices and toss well until the chickpeas are coated evenly.

Return them to the baking sheet and bake for another 10 minutes until they're browned and crunchy.

The secret to getting them extra crispy is to dry roast them first, and then season them at the last minute. This is an easy to make, healthy, vegan, 5 ingredient snack that everyone will love.&nbsp;

Crispy Crunchy Roasted Chickpeas

19 ounces can chickpeas, (drained and rinsed)

Preheat your oven to 375F (190C).

Spread the chickpeas in a single layer on a baking sheet. It&#x27;s ok if they are still a bit wet, they will dry out in the oven. Bake 30 minutes, stopping to shake the pan every now and then. *Make sure you do shake the pan once or twice when the chickpeas are baking, this helps them dry out properly and get crispy.

Remove the chickpeas from the oven and carefully add the hot chickpeas to a bowl along with the olive oil, chili powder, thyme, and salt. Toss well to coat the chickpeas evenly.&nbsp;Spread the seasoned chickpeas back onto the baking sheet and return to the oven for another 10 to 15 minutes until they are golden and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool a bit before enjoying. You can snack on them still warm, or completely cooled.

Crispy BBQ Roasted Chickpeas

can chickpeas ((very well drained + thoroughly dried))

Tbsp avocado oil

maple syrup

tsp chili powder

tsp sea salt

cayenne pepper ((optional))

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (176 C) and set out a bare (or parchment-lined) baking sheet (or more as needed).

Drain chickpeas well. If using oil, rinse well with water and thoroughly drain. If omitting oil, simply drain well and skip rinsing with water.

Once drained well, spread the chickpeas out on a clean, absorbent towel and use your hands to gently roll and dry the chickpeas. Some of the skins should start coming off. You can opt to peel all of the chickpeas — which can help for extra crispiness! — or simply remove the skins that come off. Either way, the chickpeas will crisp up. I just found that peeling them does yield slightly crispier chickpeas.

Transfer the chickpeas to a mixing bowl and top with oil. Mix well to combine. DO NOT add the other seasonings at this point — they can interrupt the crisping process, so wait to add until after baking.

Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown and dry/crispy to the touch. We like turning the pan around and shaking the chickpeas around the halfway point for even cooking. Note: Peeled chickpeas cook faster than unpeeled. If omitting oil, they will also cook faster.

Remove your chickpeas from the oven and prepare your BBQ seasoning. In a medium-size mixing bowl, combine the maple syrup, smoked paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, sea salt, black pepper, and cayenne (optional) until a paste forms.

Pour in your still-warm chickpeas and toss gently to evenly coat them with the seasoning mixture. Place them back on the cookie sheet to cool fully and so the seasoning can dry/set.

Enjoy as a protein-rich snack or use atop things like grain bowls, kale salads, or our easy and summery chopped salad (recipe coming soon)! To store, place in a storage container or jar and DO NOT tightly cover. Instead, crack lid so they can “breathe” a bit. This helps them stay crispy longer. These are best the first day, but they will last for 4-5 days at room temperature. Alternatively, seal well and freeze up to 1 month.

Preheat oven to 400°F. Rinse and drain chickpeas. Spread out on a lint-free towel and dry well, rubbing to remove skins.

In a medium bowl, toss chickpeas with melted coconut oil, honey, cinnamon, and salt until well-coated.

Bake

Spread on small rimmed baking sheet in single layer. Bake for 25-30 minutes, shaking pan every 10 minutes to stir chickpeas. Bake until crispy and golden brown.

Open canned chickpeas, rinse under running water then dry on a clean kitchen towel. Heat olive oil in a skillet/frying pan on medium heat.

Add chickpeas and sauteed until it turns golden crispy on the surface. Before adding the spices, turn the heat to very low to prevent spices burnt. Add ground turmeric, paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until chickpeas are well coated (no more than 2-3 minutes to avoid burning the spices). .

Add lemon juice (optional, leave out if you prefer crispy texture) and stir.

Turning off the heat then finish it with chopped parsley. Serve as a side dish or with salad or rice.
