Quite possibly the easiest fish taco recipe you&#039;ll ever make and one that will be a mega crowd pleaser!

Smashed Avocado Fish Tacos

Gimme Chimmi Seasoning

olive oil

flour tortillas

kosher salt and lime wedges

avocados,

chives

salt and freshly cracked black pepper

lime juice

Sprinkle the Gimme Chimmi all over the cod along with 1 teaspoon of the olive oil and let it stand for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, heat a grill pan on the stove or bbq over medium high heat and add the remaining olive oil. Season the fish with salt and pepper and cook, flipping halfway until easily flaked. About 6-8 minutes total. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the cooked fish and set aside.

While the fish is cooking, combine the diced avocado and chives in a small bowl and smash to combine. Season with salt, pepper and lime juice.

Char the tortillas on both sides over an open flame.

Gently break the fish into large chunks. Evenly distribute the smashed avocado on each tortilla and top with large flakes of the fish. Serve with hot sauce on top, extra cilantro and limes on the side.

These 20-minute Weeknight Salmon Tacos are made with chili-rubbed pan-seared salmon and topped with a fish taco slaw on warm tortillas.

Easy Salmon Tacos

salmon fillets, (fresh or frozen and thawed)

salt

black pepper

chili powder

ancho chili powder

garlic powder

onion powder

tortillas

fish taco slaw

chopped cilantro

radishes

lime wedges

Pat salmon dry. In a small bowl, add salt, black pepper, chili powder, ancho chili powder, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir together to combine.

Season the flesh side of the salmon only with the seasoning mixture.

Heat olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-heat, heat oil. Add the salmon skin side down. Cook until the skin is crispy and browned, about 4 to 5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes depending on the thickness, until the flesh is opaque and flaky.

Transfer salmon to a plate and let it rest and cool slightly for 3 minutes. Flake the salmon into large pieces using a fork, discarding the skin if desired.

Serve in warm corn or flour tortillas with fish taco slaw and garnish with chopped cilantro, sliced radishes, and lime wedges.

Salmon fillets are rubbed with a simple spice blend then pan seared until beautifully browned. From there salmon is flaked and served over warmed tortillas with a simple citrusy cabbage slaw. They are unbelievably delicious!

Salmon Tacos

salmon

(and black pepper)

tsp chili powder*

tsp cumin

(6-inch) corn tortillas, (warmed**)

(slightly packed) finely shredded cabbage (or coleslaw mix)

mayonnaise

lime

tsp honey

cilantro

tsp minced garlic ((1 small clove))

Queso fresco (or shredded moneterey jack cheese)

Fresh diced pineapple, (mango,

Diced red onion

Heat olive oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat (a heavy non-stick skillet works well or for more blackening use a cast iron skillet).

Sprinkle both sides of salmon with a fair amount of salt and pepper and sprinkle and rub both sides with chili powder and cumin.

Sear in skillet about 3 to 4 minutes per side, or until just barely cooked through. Transfer to a cutting board.

While salmon is cooking prepare the taco slaw. In a large mixing bowl toss together cabbage, mayonnaise, lime zest, lime juice, honey, cilantro and garlic. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Flake cooked fish into bite size chunks (I just use a knife and spoon, a fork works too).

Layer warmed tortillas with taco slaw, salmon and any desired toppings then serve right away.

Spicy Salmon Tacos with Avocado Lime Dressing

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix the paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.

Rub the spices over the salmon filets and bake for 10-15 minutes if filet is thawed or 20-30 minutes if cooking from frozen (until the fish is flaky).

While the salmon is baking, create the 3 Ingredient Creamy Avocado Lime Dressing with water instead of yogurt (to thin it out) and only use half of the avocado.

Cut the other half of the avocado into cubes.

When salmon has finished baking, top 4 tortillas with lettuce, cabbage, beans, corn, salmon, and drizzle with the avocado lime dressing.

Serve and enjoy!

Spicy Salmon Tacos

Prep

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Season the Salmon

Toss the salmon with the taco seasoning and avocado oil until well-coated &#8211; you can do this in a bowl or directly on the baking sheet. If your taco seasoning does not have salt, add some salt to the salmon.

Bake the Salmon

Bake the salmon for 8 minutes, close to the top of the oven, or until it slips apart easily when pressed with a fork. 

Make the Salsa

While the salmon is baking, chop up your salsa ingredients and toss together in a bowl. Season to taste.

Soften the Tortillas: 

To soften the corn tortillas, I usually heat up some oil in a large skillet and then give the tortilla a very quick one-sided dip into the hot oil and transfer to a paper-towel lined plate. I stack them up as I go so the heat and oil kind of distributes between all the tortillas. You can also wrap the tortillas in a few damp paper towels and microwave for 30 seconds to steam them so they become more pliable and yummy to eat. 

Assemble the Tacos

Mash avocado or spread refried beans on the bottom of the tortilla. Add a couple pieces of salmon; press to gently smash them. Top with a big scoop of the salsa. I often finish these with lime squeezes and a drizzle of honey!

I made these tonight and they were great! I didn’t have mango, so I used grape tomatoes - it was still delicious! I used refried beans as the base and my salmon wasn’t thick enough to cut off, so I made it like normal with taco seasoning on top and it was still a winner!!

Omg these were simple and amazing! This was the first time I used my new mini air fryer. I cubed up a salmon filet and cooked at 400 degrees for 8 min (with taco seasoning &amp; avocado oil on top) - absolutely perfect. I made the salsa minus the cilantro &amp; onion. I added black beans to the salsa, and I used avocado mash on the tortilla under the salmon. I added a tiny bit of sour cream on top of the finished product. Soooo tasty and quick to put together!

I made my salmon in the air fryer and put together the mango corn salsa while it cooked.  I was out of tortillas, but made a bowl with an avocado, the salsa, and salmon.  Delish!  It would also be wonderful on top of romaine with a few crispy torilla strips.  Definitely will be making this on repeat all summer!

We’re huge fans of tacos (but, who isn’t?), however, my husband doesn’t love salmon or mango. In fact, when I read it to him as your latest offering, he made some not so positive noises. Anyway, I snuck it into the meal plan and he was kind enough to give it a try before pouring himself a bowl of cereal and… now he swears he’d be happy eating it every day (and I concur). I made a crema, of sorts with sour creme, adorable chili and sauce, lime juice, a few frozen mango chunks and 1/2 avacado. This recipe is so yummy! Both my husband and I loved it, and ate a little too much! LOL!

Super easy salmon tacos loaded with a mango, sweet corn, and cucumber salsa!

Smokey roasted salmon over fresh tostadas, topped with avocado + mango salsa- this meal comes together in less than 30 minutes!

Chipotle Salmon Tostadas + Mango Salsa

street taco size corn tortillas

chipotle seasoning

mango

tbsp chopped cilantro

tbsp chopped red onion

jalapeno diced

avocados (mashed)

Preheat the oven to 425℉

On a large baking tray, drizzle one tsp of olive oil. Place the tortillas on the tray- making sure each one of them gets coated in olive oil on the bottom. Drizzle a little more olive oil over the top, rubbing it in so that each tortilla is coated. ***you can use an olive oil spray to save on calories

Cook the tortillas on the top rack of the oven for 5-8 minutes or until browned and crispy.

In the meantime, wash + pat dry the salmon. Lay it flat on a baking tray and season with southwest chipotle seasoning, drizzle with 1 tsp of lime juice + 1 tbsp of olive oil.

Once the tortillas are done, add the salmon into the oven on the top rack and cook for 10-15 minutes or until the salmon is cooked all the way through (145℉).

While the salmon is cooking, toss together the mango, cilantro, onion + jalapeno in a bowl.

Add the smashed avocado to each tortilla, top with the salmon, fresh lime juice + as much mango salsa as you want! Enjoy!

You can serve this meal with a side salad, grilled veggies, rice + beans or maybe even add some cabbage to each tostada!

Salmon Tacos with Avocado Crema

corn or flour tortillas, warmed

Prepare Pickled Red Onions:Place red onions in a medium heat-proof bowl. In a medium saucepan, combine vinegar, water, sweetener, and sea salt. Bring to a boil. Turn off heat and pour vinegar mixture over red onions. Let sit for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours) at room temperature. (Note: you can prepare and refrigerate red onions up to 3 days in advance.)Drain before using.

Prepare Avocado Crema:Place avocado in a bowl and thoroughly mash with a fork until mostly smooth. Add remaining ingredients (sour cream through salt), and stir until combined. Set aside until ready to use.

Prepare Salmon:Preheat oven broiler to HIGH with oven rack 6 inches from heat.Pat salmon dry with a paper towel, and arrange skin side-down in a baking dish or rimmed baking sheet covered with foil. Rub salmon all over with olive oil.In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; mix to combine. Rub spice mixture evenly into flesh of salmon. Broil to desired degree of doneness, 8 to 10 minutes. Use a fork to flake salmon into pieces.

Assemble Tacos:Smear 1 to 2 Tbsp. of Avocado Crema on each warmed tortilla. Top with flaked salmon, shredded cabbage (I like to season the cabbage or slaw with a spritz of lime juice or rice vinegar and pinch of salt), cilantro, and pickled red onions.

This was absolutely delicious! Everything about it! Definitely using the seasoning for the salmon every time I make salmon! I used to pickled jalapeños in the crema and it was excellent!

This is a FANTASTIC recipe.  I’m not a huge salmon fan but prepared exactly like this, mwah!  Do not skip the pickled onions, lime squeeze and cilantro.

Delicious! I didn’t have sour cream on hand so I substituted with some ricotta cheese blended really well with ACV and fresh lime juice.
