5-Minute Sautéed Spinach with Garlic and Lemon

olive oil (or butter)

garlic (minced)

lemon juice

spinach

kosher salt (to taste)

black pepper (to taste)

Heat the oil (1 tablespoon) over medium-high heat in a large skillet (preferably non-stick).

Add the minced clove of garlic; sauté for one minute or until fragrant.

Add the lemon juice and the spinach. Sauté for 3-4 minutes, or until greens are wilted (but not browned).

Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

Wilted Spinach is a quick vegan spinach recipe that takes only 5 - 10 minutes to make. This versatile dish is perfect to add in any menu.

spinach (pre-cleaned)

garlic pods

olive oil

salt

pepper

Heat oil in a skillet.

Add roughly diced garlic into it and saute on low flame for about a minute.

Now add spinach greens and season with salt.

If you have a little larger quantity os spinach to add, then do that in batches.

Season with  salt and pepper.

Spinach will start to shrink releasing some water.

Keep the flame on medium to high and sauté for 2 - 3 minutes till all water evaporates.

Once all liquid evaporates turn off the heat.

Wilted spinach is ready to serve as a side dish.

Optional- Add a dash of fresh lemon juice

Sauteed Spinach Recipe (Turkish Style)

onion (finely chopped)

tomato paste

tsp kosher salt

tsp black pepper

yogurt

garlic (grated)

mint

tbsp butter

Aleppo pepper

Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Sauté the onion until golden and translucent. This would take 5 to 10 minutes.

Add in the garlic and the tomato paste. Stir to combine and add the salt and pepper.

Add in the spinach and cook over medium heat until the spinach is cooked and wilted, about 10 minutes.

To make the yogurt sauce, mix the yogurt with the grated garlic, salt, pepper and dried mint.

Melt the butter in a small pan over medium heat. Once melted, add in the Aleppo pepper and give it a good stir. Add in the walnuts and cook for a minute or two.

Transfer the sauteed spinach to a serving plate. Top with the yogurt sauce and spiced butter.
