Cheeseburger bread pudding is perfect game day food! Cheeseburgers get chopped and cooked in a rich custard to make a comforting casserole with no more work than whisking together some eggs.

Cheeseburger Bread Pudding

2 packs White Castle cheeseburgers

milk

salt

tsp black pepper

garlic powder

cheddar cheese

ketchup (for garnish)

yellow mustard (for garnish)

Microwave the burgers according to their package instructions. Once cooked, and cool enough to safely handle, chop the burgers into roughly 1&quot; pieces- about 4 pieces per slider.

Spray a 9x13&quot; casserole dish with non stick cooking spray. Add the chopped cheeseburgers to it- spreading out in an even layer.

Add all of the remaining ingredients, except for the ketchup &amp; mustard, to a small mixing bowl. Whisk together until evenly combined.

Pour this mixture evenly out overtop of the burger pieces in the casserole dish. Gently stir the mixture to combine- doesn&#39;t have to be perfect.

Bake at 400° for 30 minutes, or until golden brown and no excess moisture remains.

Let the dish cool for 5-10 minutes. Run a knife around the edges of the dish to release the bread pudding from the pan.

Slice and serve with a drizzle of both ketchup and yellow mustard.

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl add half and half, butter, vanilla, sugar and salt. Microwave for about 1 minute, just until butter has melted.

Add the beaten eggs and cinnamon to the milk mixture and whisk well to combine.

Add the bread to the bowl and stir to coat. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish large enough to fit the mixture (any shallow casserole dish; I used a 8x11’’ pan).

Bake for 30 to 45 minutes, or until custard is set but still a little wobbly and edges of bread have lightly browned.

Serve warm or at room temperature. Drizzle with vanilla cream sauce, if desired.

Croque Monsieur Savory Bread Pudding Recipe

eggs ((at room temperature))

(8floz/240 milliliters) whole milk ((at room temperature))

(4floz/120 milliliters) heavy cream,

Dijon mustard

(6 ounces 170 grams) Gruyere cheese ((grated))

Butter a 9x13 inch casserole dish. Set aside.

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, mustard, garlic, thyme, salt, and black pepper.

Cut or tear the bread into 1-inch (2½cm) pieces and toss onto the custard.

Let this mixture sit for at least 30 minutes, or until the bread has absorbed all or most of the liquid. (You can make this dish up in advance and hold it in the fridge for hours until ready to bake)

While the bread is soaking, combine the grated cheese and ham in a small bowl.

Once the bread is ready, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Place half of the bread in the prepared casserole dish. Layer with half of the cheese mixture.

Top with the remaining bread and any collected liquid and then sprinkle with the remaining cheese mixture.

Bake for 50-60 minutes, until the pudding, is puffed and golden and is pulled away from the sides slightly. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Store leftovers well covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave or in a 225°F (110°C) oven until warmed through.

Hmmmm Thank you Gemma, I’m always looking for new ideas for breakfast for my B&amp;B guests here in France and I think a Croqué Monsieur pudding would delight them or maybe horrify them LOL 😁 I always have plenty of baguettes to use up and anything I can prepare the evening before is a big help as you can imagine. I think I would divide this into individual ramekins before baking for presentation reasons and serve it with tomates cerises et roquette on the side. I’ll do a test bake first 👨‍🍳
