Prep the cauliflower

Remove the stem and green leaves from the cauliflower. Slice the cauliflower into 1 inch steaks and then cut into smaller florets. Place on a baking sheet and preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

Make the rub

In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining ingredients.

Bring it all together: 

Pour the rub over the cauliflower and using your hands, massage it into each piece of cauliflower until coated. Bake for 30 minutes. Enjoy!

Tried this and it was DELICIOUS!! I didn’t have garlic powder or the aminos, and opted not to use soy sauce instead (just didn’t want the additional sodium). I added adobo seasoning and Morton’s Nature’s Seasons Seasoning. And I cooked it in a skillet with butter and EVOO. LISTEN, this was sooo good...my 8yr. old devoured it!!You have a bomb recipe! I’ll be sure to grab some GP &amp; aminos on my next grocery haul b/c I really want to try it exactly how you did it. Thanks!!!

Very tasty but mine was super salty. Followed the recipe to a T but the first ingredient on the umami seasoning is Kosher salt so I imagine that is where it came from. I will use again but just cut back on the umami seasoning.

I have this 6-qt Instant Pot, which is important only because the size of the pot may affect the timing. These instructions work perfectly for my Instant Pot every time.

Perfectly Cooked &amp; Seasoned Instant Pot Brown Rice

short grain brown rice, I’ve been

water

tsp kosher salt

soy sauce

sesame oil

mirin

scallions

Place all ingredients the inner pot of your Instant Pot.

Secure lid in place. Turn valve to Sealing.  Select manual, high pressure, and adjust the time to 22 minutes.

When the time has lapsed, allow the pressure to release naturally, which is when the silver button on the lid drops. Remove lid and dress with the soy sauce, sesame oil, mirin, and scallions. Toss to combine. Taste and adjust as needed.

We use this all the time at our house, both with and without the add ins! Have you tried doubling this at all? I'm wondering if it would need additional cook time...

Black Bean and Tofu Meatballs are moist, flavourful, and completely vegetarian!  Seasoned with familiar herbs and spices, and tossed in the sauce of your choice, these meatballs aim to please, and they do just that!

Black Bean and Tofu Meatballs

extra firm tofu, (pressed dry and crumbled)

black beans, (drained and rinsed)

red onion, (peeled and roughly chopped)

carrot,

eggs

ginger

red chili flakes

garlic, (minced)

breadcrumbs, (refer to post

mustard

ketchup

oregano

basil

paprika

Parsley

In a food processor, puree the tofu and scoop into a large mixing bowl.

Puree the onion and carrot and transfer to the mixing bowl with the tofu.

Puree the black beans and transfer to the mixing bowl with the tofu, carrots, and onion.

Add two cups of the breadcrumbs to the mixing bowl along with the mustard, ketchup, oregano, basil, eggs, ginger, garlic, red chili flakes, and paprika.

Use a rubber spatula to mix the ingredients together until a stiff mixture has formed.

While heating the oil to 350 degrees, use a small scoop (about two teaspoons) to portion the meatballs equally.  Roll the mixture in your hands to form and ball and then roll into the breadcrumbs.

Set aside the meatballs until oil is fully heated.

Add the meatballs to the oil a few at a time; allow the meatballs to cook until they turn a deep brown colour - about 5 minutes.

Remove from the oil and place in a baking dish.  Pour your favourite sauce over the meatballs and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Garnish and serve immediately.

Place oyster crackers in a gallon zip lock bag. (or plastic container with a lid)

Mix oil and seasonings in a small bowl or measuring cup.

Pour seasoning mixture evenly over the crackers and gently mix to coat.

Shake every 5 minutes or so until crackers are coated and no oil settles in the bottom of the bag.

A really good pizza comes down to two things - the dough and the sauce. The topping are secondary to those! Canned Pizza Sauce is the answer to preparing a pizzeria style pizza at home. Make a batch, store it in your pantry, and make delicious pizzas at home for a fraction of the cost!

Canned Pizza Sauce

plum (roma) tomatoes ((one bushel))

Wash mason jars and screw lids in soapy water and rinse soap off well under running hot water.  Place clean jars on a baking sheet and place in oven preheated to 200 degrees.  Set screw bands aside.  Next, boil a kettle of water and pour into a clean glass bowl.  Carefully submerge the sealing discs in the bowl of hot water.  Set aside.

Next, peel and quarter the onions. Peel and roughly chop the garlic. Add the onions and garlic to a food processor and pulse until they form a very fine puree. You may have to do this in batches, depending on the size of your food processor. Transfer the pureed onion and garlic to a large stock pot.

Add the olive oil to the pot and cook the onion and garlic mixture over medium heat for five minutes. In the meantime, quarter the peeled tomatoes and cut away the stem. Puree the tomatoes in batches as well. Once pureed, add them to the cooked onions and garlic. Once all of the pureed tomatoes are in the pot, add the salt, sugar, and Italian Seasoning.  Stir well. Cook the sauce for four hours, stirring often. While the sauce cooks, prepare the jars and your canner.

Remove the sterilized jars from the oven.  Add half teaspoon of bottled lemon juice to each jar. Ladle the sauce into prepared mason jars using a funnel to prevent the mixture from touching the rim of the jars.

Wipe down the rim of each jar with a damp paper towel to ensure none of the sauce has come in contact with the rim.

Carefully remove the sealing discs from the hot water with a magnetic lid lifter.  Position the sealing disc directly onto the lid of the jars.  Do not touch the underside of the lid.

Screw on the screw bands until firm - do not apply pressure!  Just use your fingertips to tighten the screw bands.

Using the jar lifter, place the jars into the water bath canner with the boiling water. Place a lid on the pot and boil the jars for 20 minutes.

Once done, carefully remove each jar from the canner using the jar lifter.  Do not tilt the jars or try to wipe them dry.  Place jars onto a wire cooling rack that has been covered with a clean kitchen towel.

Leave the jars to cool for a minimum of 12 hours.  Once cooled, wipe the jars of any residue that might have been transferred to the outside of the jar during the boiling process.  Label the jars and store in a dark, cool cabinet.
