Sticky Sesame Cauliflower Recipe (Gluten free Vegan)

sesame oil

ginger

garlic (, minced)

gluten-free tamari (or soy sauce)

maple syrup

rice vinegar

tsp sriracha

cornstarch

water

rice flour

tbsp tapioca or corn starch.

garlic powder

salt

black pepper and cayenne

tsp sesame oil

cauliflower

sesame seeds and scallions

Sticky Sesame Sauce: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add sesame oil, garlic and ginger. Cook the garlic ginger for a minute. Add the soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple and bring to boil. Mix cornstarch in the water and add this cornstarch slurry and bring to a boil to thicken, Take off heat.

Cauliflower: Preheat the oven to 425 deg F ( 220 C). Line a baking sheet or dish with parchment. In a large bowl add the dry ingredients for the batter and whisk well. Add the wet ingredients and min until smooth.

Add the cauliflower and mix to coat. This batter keeps thickening as it sits, so mix and toss quickly.

Transfer to the the lined baking sheet. and bake for 30 mins. Make the sticky sauce in the meanwhile if you havent yet.

Once baked, you can do one of the following: 1. Brush the sauce over the cauliflower florets and bake for additional 10 to 15 mins (time depends on how crisp and sticky you want the sauce)2. Wait for a few mins then transfer the florets to the sauce. Mix gently to coat. Serve immediately or transfer to the baking sheet to bake for 10 to 15 mins.

Sprinkle black and white sesame seeds and chopped scallions and serve as is, or over rice or in lettuce wraps!

When you need some sticky sweet tangy delicious sauced something, cauliflower fits right in. Cauliflower florets are tossed in a rice flour and starch batter and baked to crisp. The sticky sesame sauce uses sesame oil, garlic, ginger, soy/tamari, vinegar, maple syrup and some sriracha for heat for a addictive flavor profile. Brush this sticky sauce on the baked cauliflower and serve, or bake again for more sticky crispy cauliflower!

Serve it over rice, by itself or in lettuce wraps! I use sesame oil in the batter and the sauce for extra sesame flavor profile. For additional protein, add in some firm tofu, seitan or soycurls with the cauliflower. Lets make this!

STICKY SESAME CAULIFLOWER - Gluten-free | Vegan Richa Recipes

Make your own Chinese food at home with this Sticky Sesame Cauliflower with a healthy twist. Vegan, baked, and made with no refined sugar!

Sticky Sesame Cauliflower

cauliflower,

chickpea flour

all-purpose flour

tsp salt

tsp white pepper

tbsp cooking oil

tbsp sesame oil

garlic, (minced)

ginger,

soy sauce

tbsp sweet chili sauce

tbsp rice vinegar

white rice

tsp sesame seeds,

green onion, (sliced thin)

Begin by cooking the rice according to the rice package instructions. While rice is cooking, prepare your cauliflower. 

Preheat oven to 450 F. In a shallow mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour and water, whisking together until thick and gooey. This will act as your binder between the cauliflower and flour mixture. In a separate shallow bowl combine flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. 

Pour 1 tbsp of cooking oil into a heavy bottom baking dish or large cast iron skillet. Dip each floret into the chickpea flour mixture until completely submerged, then dip it immediately into the flour mixture, coating thoroughly. Place the battered cauliflower in the baking dish and repeat until all the cauliflower is covered.

Bake for 10 minutes. Pull out of the oven, flip cauliflower over and brush or spray the additional 1 tbsp of oil on the top of the florets. Bake for another 10 minutes. 

While cauliflower is baking, make your sauce. Begin by heating up sesame oil in a small pan. Add garlic and ginger and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Whisk in remaining ingredients and simmer for 5 minutes. 

Pour all but 2 tbsp of sauce over the battered cauliflower and bake for another 5-10 minutes until sauce is sticky and thick. 

Serve immediately over cooked rice. Top with sesame seeds, green onion, and remaining 2 tbsp of sauce. 

These crispy air fryer cauliflower wings are coated in a spicy sesame garlic sauce. They&#039;re easy to make, both vegan and gluten free and the perfect crowd pleasing appetizer.

Air Fryer Sesame Cauliflower Wings

gluten free all purpose flour (or regular AP flour)

plain non-dairy milk (I used almond)

breadcrumbs

garlic (minced)

honey

water broth

gochujang (see notes)

sriracha

cut cauliflower

Cut the cauliflower into medium/small florets.

make batter

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, garlic and salt.

toss with cauliflower

Add the cauliflower to the batter and toss to coat. Toss in the breadcrumbs and mix until well coated.

preheat

Preheat your air fryer to 370 degrees Fahrenheit. This should only take a couple of minutes.

add cauliflower to basket

Once ready, add half of the cauliflower to the air fryer basket in one layer. You will likely need to do 2 batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Set the air fryer to 370 for 10-13 minutes depending on how crispy you like it.

saute garlic

Meanwhile, add the minced garlic to a small pot with the oil. Saute until lightly golden brown, then add in the ginger.

Saute for 1-2 minutes. Add in all remaining ingredients aside from the water and cornstarch. Whisk well to combine.

In a small dish, whisk together the water and cornstarch and add to the sauce. bring to a low boil, then remove from heat to let thicken.

serve

When both batches of the cauliflower are done, add to a large mixing bowl and toss with the sauce. Sprinkle on sesame seeds and chopped scallions and enjoy!

These cauliflower bites are made in the air fryer and topped with a sauce inspired by asian flavors.

Airfryer Asian Cauliflower Bites

soy sauce (or gluten free alternative (I used coconut sauce))

brown sugar

chili garlic sauce

ginger powder

cornstarch (or arrowroot powder)

sesame seeds and green onions

Cut up the cauliflower into bite sized pieces. Set aside.

In a large bowl add the soy sauce (or alternative), brown sugar, chili garlic sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, and ginger bowl. Whisk together.

Add the cauliflower florets and toss until covered.

Place the cauliflower on the air fryer basket and air fry at 400F for 15 minutes. Check on them at the 10 minute mark and shake them so they don&#039;t burn.

Air Fried Cauliflower

Add the marinade to a sauce pan, then add the teaspoon of cornstarch or arrowroot powder. Turn the heat on to medium heat and whisk until thickened.

Pour over the caulifower or serve as a dipping sauce with optional garnishes.
