Perfect Pan Seared Salmon

Combine 1 teaspoon each salt and pepper. Sprinkle half of salt and pepper mixture in bottom of a large nonstick skillet. Arrange salmon, skin side down, in skillet; heat to medium high and sprinkle with remaining salt and pepper over top.

Cook salmon until fat begins to render and skin starts to brown, 6–7 minutes. Flip, cook until flesh side starts to brown, 6–8 minutes more. Transfer to a plate and let cool.

How to Pan Sear Salmon

Sticky and sweet, easy honey garlic glazed salmon is one of the best salmon recipes to add to your weeknight dinner rotation. Ready in under 25 minutes.

Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon

lb. skin-on salmon fillets,

salt (or

black pepper (or

olive oil

soy sauce

honey

water

cornstarch

teaspoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed

tablespoon garlic, finely chopped

green onions, finely chopped

Pat dry salmon fillets and season with salt and pepper. Set aside at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes.

In a large skillet, heat oil for 2 minutes over medium-high heat until the hot oil sizzles. Sear the salmon fillets for 5-6 minutes on each side (skin side facing up first), until golden brown and fully cooked. When salmon is cooked, the flesh will turn opaque, and it will flake easily when inserting a fork. Transfer the cooked salmon onto a plate. 

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, water, cornstarch and lemon juice. Whisk well to combine until the cornstarch dissolves. Set aside.

In the same skillet, add garlic and sauté until fragrant over medium heat, about 1 minute. Stir in sauce mixture and cook for 3-4 minutes. Keep stirring until thickened to a desired consistency.

Return the cooked salmon to the skillet and toss well to coat evenly. Garnish with green onions and serve warm with a bowl of steamed rice.

I made this for my family last night. This recipe is a keeper!  We loved it. It has a nice balance of salty and sweet. I appreciated the instructions on pan-searing/cooking the salmon. It was cooked just right. I did keep the salmon in a warm oven (200) while I prepared the sauce.

Creamed Spinach Stuffed Salmon Will Be Your New Favorite Weeknight Dinner

Teriyaki salmon is served alongside rice and veggies with a simple homemade glaze. Cooked in a skillet, this sweet salmon is ready in minutes!

Teriyaki Salmon

maple syrup

rice vinegar

onion powder

sesame seeds (more or less to taste (optional))

garlic (minced)

ginger

green onions

Set.

Remove salmon from fridge and let set at room temperature for 15 to 20 minutes.

Sear.

Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Place salmon in hot skillet, flesh side down. Sear for 3 to 5 minutes.

Cook.

Meanwhile, combine the soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, onion powder, sesame seeds, garlic and ginger in a small bowl. Flip the salmon, pour sauce into the pan and let simmer/thicken while brushing top of salmon with the sauce. Continue to cook until salmon reaches internal temp of 145°F.

Serve.

Transfer to serving platter and brush with additional sauce in pan. Serve over rice with roasted vegetables (optional).

Tbsp lemon juice (from 2 lemons)

Tbsp fresh parsley, minced

Season salmon on both sides with 1/2 salt and 1/8 tsp black pepper. Grate 1 tsp of lemon zest then squeeze 2 lemons for 4 Tbsp lemon juice. 

Heat a large (10-12&quot;) light-colored pan over medium heat and right away add 4 Tbsp butter, swirling and stirring frequently to prevent splatter until it starts to turn light brown and the bits of butter solids turn brown (about 3-7 minutes depending on your heat).

Add seasoned salmon and cook uncovered on the first side 3-4 minutes until golden brown then flip salmon and cook another 2 to 3 minutes or until flaky and fully cooked through with an internal temperature of 145˚F.

In the last 2 minutes of cooking, add 1 tsp lemon zest and 4 Tbsp lemon juice to the pan. Spoon the sauce over the salmon as it cooks. Transfer salmon to plates, drizzle with sauce, and sprinkle the pan-cooked salmon with freshly chopped parsley and black pepper to taste. Serve right away.

Easy Pan Seared Salmon Recipe  with Lemon Butter

A fuss-free meal with pan-seared salmon and lemony orzo cooked together with spinach and Parmesan for a quick and easy dinner. A winner for busy nights— this all-in-one dish is sure to be loved by everyone at your table!

One Skillet Salmon with Lemon Orzo

salmon fillets

salt (divided)

tsp black pepper (divided)

tsp sweet paprika

yellow onion (finely chopped)

garlic

dry orzo pasta

thyme

chicken broth

baby spinach

juice from ½ lemon

Parmesan

black pepper (for servng)

chili flakes (for serving)

Get your prep done before you start cooking: Grate the Parmesan cheese, finely chop the onion and mince the garlic cloves. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with garlic powder, sweet paprika and ½ teaspoon salt and pepper.

Heat oil and butter over medium high in a large nonstick pan or skillet. Add salmon fillets and sear, 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.Reduce heat to medium, add garlic and onion. Cook until soft and fragrant for about 2 minutes. Stir in thyme and the remaining salt and pepper. Add orzo and toast for 1 minute.

Pour in broth and bring to a boil. To maintain a simmer, reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook uncovered while stirring occasionally to prevent the orzo from sticking, until almost al dente and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 8 minutes.

Add spinach, stir and simmer until wilted for about 2 minutes. Stir in lemon juice and Parmesan. Add more broth, if needed. Taste and adjust salt.

finishing

Return salmon to the skillet and simmer for 2-3 minutes, or until the salmon is heated through.

serving

Top with freshly ground black pepper and chili flakes. Enjoy!
