Preheat the grill.

Preheat the grill. Preheat your flat-top grill, griddle, or 12&quot; cast iron skillet to medium-high heat.

Form the meat patties.

Form the meat patties. Divide the ground beef into 8 even sections. Loosely form the meat into balls and set aside.

Make the homemade burger sauce.

Make the homemade burger sauce. Combine all ingredients for the burger sauce in a small bowl and stir to combine.

Grill the onions and smash the burgers.

Grill the onions and smash the burgers. Spread some clarified butter on the grill and add the onions. Grill the onions until they start to soften. Divide the onions into 8 sections on your grill. Place a meat &quot;ball&quot; on top of each pile of onions and smash the ball flat with a spatula.

Grill the smashburgers.

Grill the smashburgers. Season the flattened meat patties with Beef Seasoning and cook for 3-4 minutes. Flip the burgers, add a slice of American cheese to each patty, and continue grilling for 3-4 minutes.

Toast the buns.

Toast the buns. While the burgers are cooking, melt more clarified butter on the skillet next to the burgers and place the buns cut side down on the grill. Brush more butter on the tops of the buns and toast for 1-2 minutes until the buns begin to turn golden brown. Do not flip.

Assemble the smashburgers.

Assemble the smashburgers. Remove the buns and meat from the grill. Place a dollop of burger sauce on the bottom bun, top with a cheesy patty and grilled onions, and finish with a bun. You can also make these with a double patty and 4 buns, if desired.

If you love a good burger this sauce will make your next burger more delicious than you ever imagined. This copycat smash burger sauce is perfect for when you make a burger on the Blackstone griddle.

With only a few ingredients these Smashburgers are full of flavor and so easy to make on your Blackstone Griddle or cast iron skillet!

Smash Burger

¼ c. melted butter (divided)

Preheat Blackstone Griddle, flat-top griddle or 12&#39;&#39; cast iron skillet to medium-high heat.

Divide the ground beef into 8 equal sections. Gently form into loose balls, set aside on plate.

Pour about half of melted butter onto cooking surface, spread around with back of spatula. Place the meat into cooking surface. Smash the ball flat with a spatula or burger press.

Season with beef seasoning. Cook fro 3-4 minutes, flip burgers, sprinkle with seasoning and add a slice of cheese. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until cooked to preferred doneness. Remove from heat and place on toasted buns.

While the burgers are cooking spread more melted butter on other side of griddle (if you are using a cast iron skillet do this after you remove the burgers). Place the buns cut side down on griddle. Brush more butter on the tops of the buns, toast for 1-2 minutes or until the inside of the bun turns golden. Watch careful they will cook fast.

Remove the buns and meat from the grill. Place burgers on buns and serve with additional toppings if desired.

It’s easy to make restaurant-style Smash Burgers at home. These cook quickly and it’s one of the tastiest ways to prepare a burger. You’ll love the double patty with melted cheese in between, and the sauce is a must-try!

Smash Burger Recipe with Easy Sauce

(added

Divide beef into 8 even portions, about 3 oz each. Loosely Roll them into balls then cover and refrigerate while preparing remaining ingredients. The meat must be cold when it hits the grill.

Portion Beef Patties:

Remove wilted leaves from lettuce to keep it crunchy then finely shred lettuce. Slice tomatoes, onions, and pickles.

Butter and toast buns over medium heat until golden on the buttered side.

Prep Toppings and Buns:

Increase griddle to medium/high heat. Place 2-4 burger balls onto hot griddle. Working quickly, place parchment paper over the meat and firmly smash straight down into a thin patty.

Once patties are smashed, peel back and discard parchment papers and season patties with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Add 1/2 teaspoon of burger sauce. Cook 2 minutes on the first side or until seared and juices start to come to the surface.

Scrape under the burger with spatula facing down at a 45˚ angle to get under the caramelized part and flip. Cook another 1 minute. Top half of the patties with sliced cheese and cover cheese with the second patty. Repeat with remaining burgers and transfer them to a platter as they finish cooking.

Cook the Patties:

Place sauce on bottom of bun. Top with 3 pickle slices, shredded lettuce, 2 tomato slices and thin sliced onion. Add double patty and top with bun.

These Smash Burgers are destined to be your favorite burgers! Crispy edges and a juicy middle, these skillet patties really hit the spot and are easy to whip up. Housed between two potato buns that soak up the juice, this is the ultimate bite!

Smash Burgers Recipe

canola oil

potato burger buns

unsalted butter (softened)

ground beef blend

Kosher salt

Brush

Brush a 12-inch cast iron or stainless steel skillet with oil and set it over medium heat for 3-4 minutes. While the skillet heats, form ¼ pound beef into very loose 2-inch thick patties. The meat should barely hold its shape. Generously season one side of the patty with salt &amp; pepper.

Butter the inside on the buns and place (buttered-side down) on the hot skillet. Cook just until the buns are nicely toasted (watch closely). Set the buns aside.

Heat

Increase the heat under the skillet to medium-high and heat the skillet an additional 1 minute.

Sear

Set two patties, seasoned-side down, on opposite sides in the skillet and firmly press down on them until they are about 4-4½-inches wide and ½-inch thick. Season the top-side of the burgers with salt &amp; pepper.

Cook

Cook the patties, undisturbed, until the outer edges are dark caramel brown.

Melt

Flip the burgers and cook 1 minute. Add cheese and cook until desired doneness, about 1 more minute for medium-well. (If you like a medium-rare burger, add the cheese right after flipping the burger and cook just 1 minute.)

Repeat

Set the cooked burgers, cheese side up, on a paper towel-lined plate and repeat the cooking process with the remaining burger patties.

Garnish

Place the burgers on the buns and add your favorite condiments and toppings.

If you love a meaty, juicy burger patty with loads of crispy edges and tons of smoky crooks and crannies for your favorite sauce or cheese to sink into, this Smash Burger recipe is for you!

Tbsp frozen salted butter, divided (0.56)

tsp Homemade Burger Seasoning (0.33)

Separate the ground beef into four equal portions.

Grate 1/2 tablespoon of frozen butter onto each portion. Wrap the meat around the butter and shape it into a ball. Chill the beef until you are ready to cook. Place an ungreased cast iron skillet over high heat. Turn on your exhaust fan. Open a window.

When the skillet is smoking hot, sprinkle a 3/4 teaspoon of burger seasoning all over the beef ball, then place it in the pan.

Smash down with a spatula and keep the spatula on the burger as it cooks. When you see the top of the patty change color (about 2 minutes), carefully work the spatula under the patty. Take your time with this step, as the patty will be stuck to the pan.*

When you have loosened the patty, flip it and smash it again. Cook for 2 minutes more, remove the patty from the pan, and rest it on a cooling rack. Wipe the pan down with a paper towel and cook the remaining patties.

While the patties rest, place a rack in the top third of your oven and put it on broil. Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and brush it onto the inside of the buns. Place them buttered side up on a sheet pan and toast in the oven for a few minutes until golden.

Assemble the burgers. Place the burger on the bottom bun and top with onion rounds, tomato slices, and lettuce. Add the top bun and enjoy the crispiest, smokiest, burger ever!

I love a good burger! Smash burgers are easy to prepare and come together so fast. If ever I&#039;m craving a good old-fashioned burger, these smash burgers are my go-to recipe!

1.5 lbs Ground Beef ((80/20))

Salt and Pepper (to taste)

American Cheese

Tomato, (sliced)

Butter Lettuce

Brioche Buns

Divide the ground beef evenly into 3-ounce portions and form into balls.  Cover and place in the refrigerator while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.

Slice the tomato, wash the lettuce, and prepare any other ingredients that you would like on your hamburger.

Butter both sides of each bun.  Toast the inside of each bun on a griddle or skillet for about 20 seconds or under golden brown.  Set aside.

Heat your griddle or cast iron skillet to 400° Farhenheit.

Place two balls of beef on the hot griddle or skillet.  You can cook all of the hamburgers at the same time if your griddle will fit them all.  Just work quickly because the meat cooks fast.

Press the ball of meat down with a large flat metal spatula.  Get the patty as flat and thin as you can.  You&#39;ll be doubling up the patties, so don&#39;t be nervous about a thin patty.  It helps to cover the meat with a piece of parchment paper to prevent the meat from sticking to the spatula.

Season with salt and pepper and cook for 2 minutes.

Flip both patties with a metal spatula making sure to scrape up the crusty layer that has formed on the burger underneath.

Place a slice of cheese on top of one of the patties.

Cook for 1-2 more minutes.  Once the meat is cooked through, place the patty without cheese on top of the patty with cheese.   The melted cheese will be sandwiched between both patties.

Prepare your hamburger by taking the bottom toasted bun and layering on your favorite condiments, followed by lettuce, tomato, and onion.

Lastly, place your smashed burger on top of the layered vegetables.  The meat will help keep everything from sliding out when you eat it!  Top it with the other half of your toasted bun and enjoy!

Get everything ready before you start cooking. Prepare your special sauce and keep your seasonings close by. The key to making juicy smash burgers is speed, so you don’t want to be fumbling around once the burgers hit the hot surface.  With your hands, gently mix the beef with the Worcestershire, fish sauce, onion power, smoked paprika, and melted butter. Divide your pound of ground beef into six loose balls. Do not pack them tightly! Keeping them loose helps create that ultra juicy burger texture.

Prep Your Ingredients

For the best results, set your cast iron griddle or flat top grill to high heat. You want it scorching hot—this is what gives your smash burger patties that signature crispy edge. If you’re using a skillet, let it heat up until it’s almost smoking.

Heat Up Your Cooking Surface

Place a ball of beef onto the hot skillet, sprinkle it with salt and ground black pepper, cover it with a piece of parchment paper, and press it down firmly using a burger press or bacon press. The goal is to make thin patties that have browned bits around the edges of the smashed burger. Hold the press for 10 seconds to ensure good contact with the hot griddle.

Form and Smash the Patties
