Smoked shrimp is one of the quickest and easiest recipes you can make on the pellet grill. You will love how soft and tender this shrimp is. Simply marinate for 15-30 minutes, then pop on the grill for another 30 minutes. This shrimp has amazing flavor and is perfect as an easy appetizer or a quick dinner. Serve it with cocktail sauce, on a salad, or in shrimp tacos for a dish everyone will love.

Easy Smoked Shrimp Recipe on Pellet Grill

shrimp (peeled)

olive oil

lemon juice

garlic powder

onion powder

sea salt

⅛ tsp black pepper

Use a paper towel to dry the shrimp. Place shrimp in a large bowl. Add olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper. Toss everything together until combined.

Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge to marinade for 15-30 minutes.

Preheat your pellet grill to 225 degrees F.

Remove the shrimp from the fridge and place it on a grilling rack. You can also use an aluminum pan or make your own out of a sheet of aluminum foil.

Once the smoker comes up to temperature, place the shrimp on the grill grate. Close the lid.

Smoke the shrimp until they turn pink, which means they are fully cooked.

Remove the shrimp from the electric smoker and serve immediately with a squeeze of fresh lemon and your favorite sides or dipping sauce.

These Smoked Shrimp Skewers are marinaded in a tangy Whole30 marinade and then smoked and grilled to perfection!  They make the perfect smoked shrimp recipe for a Traeger grill and are great for appetizers or as a main dish!

Smoked Shrimp Skewers | Whole30, Paleo

lb large or jumbo shrimp (peeled & de-veined, tail-on)

primal kitchen italian dressing

apple cider vinegar

garlic (minced)

tbsp dill (dried)

tsp salt

tsp pepper

In a large bowl, whisk all ingredients together except for the shrimp.

Add the shrimp to the bowl and mix ensuring the shrimp is well coated in the marinade.

Marinade the shrimp for 30 minutes, any longer and the acid in the vinegar will begin to cook the shrimp.

Pre-heat the smoker to 250F according to the manufacturers instructions.

Thread the shrimp onto the skewers.

Place the shrimp skewers on the smoker and smoke for 20 minutes, then increase the temperature to 375F and grill for 2-3 minutes on each side or until opaque and cooked thoroughly.

Achieve that much-desired smokey grill flavor with this Traeger smoked shrimp recipe. You can use skewers, but they’re not required for smoking shrimp on the pellet grill. Let’s make ‘em!

Easy Traeger Smoked Shrimp Recipe (BBQ Pellet Grill) | Sip Bite Go

Prep shrimp for smoker

Prep shrimp for smoker. Wash shrimp if needed under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

Preheat Traeger

Preheat Traeger smoker (or whatever pellet grill you’re using) to 450 degrees F, with the lid closed.

Marinade shrimp

Quickly marinade shrimp before smoking. (IMPORTANT: Recommended marinating time for shrimp before grilling is at least 15 minutes, up to 30 minutes. Don’t marinate shrimp longer than 30 minutes because the lemon juice – the acid – will break down the shrimp meat too much, and will render it mushy.) Add jumbo shrimp to a large bowl. Drizzle on olive oil, and toss in chopped garlic, parsley, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Toss with tongs to combine and season shrimp thoroughly. Marinade 15-30 minutes.

Add shrimp to Traeger

Traeger grill shrimp. Add shrimp directly to the pellet grill grates (or put them on skewers first, or add them to a grilling basket before putting ‘em on the smoker rack). Close the lid, and smoke shrimp for four minutes.

Flip smoker shrimp and smoke until done

Flip smoker shrimp and smoke for another 2-4 minutes, or until done. Internal temperature of fully cooked smoked shrimp is 120 degrees F. Use an internal read meat thermometer to check the temp in the thickest part of the jumbo shrimp before taking them off the grill. Don’t continue smoking shrimp above 120 degrees F, as they can become tough and chewy. They’ll be slightly pink on the outside. Serve smoked jumbo shrimps with a small bowl of cocktail sauce and enjoy!
