This grilled swordfish is marinated in lemon, garlic, olive oil and herbs, then seared on the grill until golden brown. The absolute best way to prepare swordfish, this dinner is easy yet elegant.

Grilled Swordfish

swordfish each)

olive oil

honey

soy sauce

lemon zest

parsley (chopped)

thyme leaves

salt

black pepper

Place the olive oil, honey, soy sauce, lemon zest, parsley, thyme, salt and pepper in a bowl or resealable bag. Whisk to thoroughly combine.

Reserve 1 tablespoon of the marinade for later use. Add the garlic to the marinade and stir.

Add the swordfish to the marinade.

Cover the bowl or seal the bag, then marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 8 hours.

Remove the swordfish from the marinade and scrape off any excess bits of herbs or garlic (otherwise they could burn on the grill!).

Preheat an outdoor grill or indoor grill pan over medium high heat. Add the swordfish steaks and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side or until swordfish is opaque throughout.

Brush the reserved marinade over the fish, then serve immediately, with lemon wedges if desired.

Ginger-Garlic Pan Roasted Swordfish

butter (room temperature)

parsley

garlic (minced)

ginger (grated)

red pepper

lemon peel (grated)

swordfish

sea salt (to taste)

Preheat oven to 400°F.

In a small bowl blend together the butter, parsley, garlic, ginger, red pepper and lemon peel.

Season the swordfish to taste with sea salt.

Place an ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat and when hot add one tablespoon of olive oil and the swordfish, salted side down.

Pan sear the swordfish for 1-2 minutes or until it has a nice color.

Turn the swordfish over, and drain out any excess oil from the pan. Carefully add a few tablespoons of water to the pan and place the pan in a preheated 400 degree oven

Roast the swordfish until just cooked through, about 6-8 minutes or until desired doneness.

Transfer swordfish to a serving dish

Add seasoned butter mixture to the same skillet. Allow it to cook slightly over medium-high heat until melted and bubbling (1-2 minutes).

Pour butter sauce over swordfish and serve with your favorite side dishes

Pan-Seared Swordfish

swordfish steaks, 3/4 to 1 inch thick ((Note 1))

Prep Swordfish: Pat steaks dry with paper towels. Trim off and discard any skin. Sprinkle both sides of each steak with salt.

Sear Swordfish: Heat olive oil in pan (Note 2) over medium-high heat until very hot, a few minutes. Add swordfish steaks to pan. Flipping every 2 minutes, cook until center registers 130 F, 5 to 7 minutes depending on size of your steaks (Note 3).

Rest &amp; Serve: Immediately transfer steaks to serving plates, letting them rest for a few minutes (Note 4). Add optional toppings over steaks, and serve (Note 5).

Pat dry the fish steaks with a paper towel. Place the swordfish in the air fryer basket and air fry to 390ºF for 5-6 minutes on each side or until an instant-read meat thermometer reaches 145ºF.

Air Fryer Swordfish Steaks are perfectly cooked, seared on the outside, and moist on the inside. This recipe is ready in 10 minutes, great for a quick and easy weeknight dinner!

Air Fryer Swordfish

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk olive oil, honey, soy sauce, lemon zest, parsley, thyme, garlic, salt, and pepper.

Reserve 1 tablespoon of the marinade to pour over top of the cooked swordfish. Set aside.

Place swordfish in a ziplock bag and pour the marinade over top.  Seal the bag and marinate for 30 minutes to 8 hours.

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F/204°C.  Place the marinated swordfish in your air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes, flipping at the halfway point.  Fish is done when it reaches 145 degrees.

Spoon over the reserved sauce and enjoy!
