A simple and quick way to make cannabis tincture at home without the need of infusing for months.

Quick And Easy Cannabis Tincture

Ounce Cannabis (decarbed)

Cups Everclear (or other high proof alcohol)

Place the decarbed cannabis in a plastic bucket

Crush the plant material using a stick of clean, untreated wood or any other similar device.

Continue to crush the cannabis, while adding 1 cup everclear until the plant material is completely covered and soaked. Stir the mixture for about three minutes. As you stir the mixture, the cannabinoids will begin dissolving off the plant into the solvent.

Strain the solvent mixture into another bucket. At this point, you have stripped the material of about 80% of its THC.

Repeat this process for the second wash. Again add 1 cup everclear to the plant material and work for another three minutes to extract the remaining THC.

Strain this new solvent mix into the bucket containing the first mix that was previously separated.

Discard the twice washed plant material.

Pour the solvent mixture through a coffee filter into a clean container.

Boil the solvent off in a safe environment. A rice cooker will boil the solvent off nicely. CAUTION: the solvent is flammable and the vapors toxic. Avoid stove-tops, red-hot elements, sparks, cigarettes, and open flames as the fumes can be extremely dangerous.

Add solvent to rice cooker  and turn on heat. Make sure you are in a well-ventilated area and set up a fan to carry the solvent fumes away. If you can complete this step outside.

Continue to add mixture to cooker as the solvent evaporates until you have added it all to the cooker.

Continue to reduce the liquid until you have roughly 1 cup liquid left.

Place in a container or jar and let stand for at least 24 hours.

First you will need to decarb your hemp flower.  Heat the oven to 220-250 degrees. (temperatures will vary depending on the oven) Grind the hemp flower and place into a mason jar.  Cover with a tight fitting lid and cook for 70 minutes.  After 70 minutes, remove from heat and the hemp flower is ready to use.

Turn the crockpot on low heat, and fill about halfway full with water.

Add the hemp flower to a glass measuring cup, or into a mason jar.  Pour the MCT oil in with the hemp and cover with foil.  Place into the crockpot.

Check on the mixture every hour, and stir.  Minimum cook time is 4 hours.  This can cook for up to 24 hours.

Strain the mixture with a strainer and cheesecloth.  Keep stored in an airtight container.  Enjoy!

This cannabis infused vodka can be used for both weed cocktails or cannabis edibles.

Decarboxylate your weed by spreading your cannabis evenly on an oven tray And coat with aluminum foil.

Place in the oven on 240F/115C for 25 till 45 minutes, and then let it cool.

Chop or grind the cannabis and wrap into cheesecloth to come up with a small package.

Place the package in a bottle of vodka. And let it infuse for 3 days. Shaking every 12 hours.

After 3 days, remove cannabis from vodka. You cannabis infused Vodka is ready!

This master recipe shows you how to make medicinal herbal tinctures using any herb. For an example use of this master recipe that I demonstrate in the recipe video, the recipe ingredients list the herbs used to make a tincture to help with headaches.

Medicinal Herbal Tinctures Master Recipe

1/2-1 cup Vodka or other alcohol

Fill the 8 ounce jar with the appropriate amount of herbs that you are using.  If the herbs are fresh, they are best rough chopped first.  If you are using roots, stems or stalks, or berries, they are best well chopped or pulverized first.

Pour the vodka or other liquid into the jar to within approximately an inch to a half-inch of the rim of the jar. Make sure that all the herbs are well saturated and submerged under the liquid. (See video.)

Put the lid on the jar and shake it up and down a few times.

Place the jar in a warm place. You can place it either in or out of direct sunlight.  Herbalists assert that the sun will not cause the essential or volatile oils to become rancid because the alcohol acts as a preservative.  However, if you are using glycerine or apple cider vinegar, you may want to place the jar in a warm place out of direct sunlight.

After two days, remove the lid of the jar to check the level of the liquid.  The herbs, especially dried herbs, may have absorbed much of the liquid.  If so, top off the jar with additional liquid to ensure that the herbs are completely saturated and covered by the liquid. Replace the lid on the jar, shake it up and down a few times, and return it to a warm spot.

If you want, you can shake the jar daily, but it is not required.  However, it is a good idea to periodically shake the jar at least once a week.  Doing so ensures that any herbs that may have floated to the top will be re-submerged under the liquid.

If you are making a medicinal herbal tincture using herb flowers and/or leaves, the tincture will be ready to strain and decant after 4 weeks (28 days).  If you are making a medicinal herbal tincture using herb roots, stems or stalks, and/or berries, the tincture will be ready to strain and decant after 6 weeks (42 days).

To strain the medicinal herbal tincture, place a fine-mesh strainer over a large measuring cup or bowl. Pour the contents of your jar into the mesh strainer and allow the tincture to drain into the vessel below the mesh strainer.

DO NOT press on the herbs in the mesh strainer.  Allow the tincture to drain naturally.  You want the tincture to be as clear as possible and free of bits of herbs in it.  The spent herbs can be saved for the compost pile.

Once the tincture liquid no longer drains from the mesh strainer, decant the tincture.  The best option for decanting the tincture is into a dark-colored bottle with an eyedroppe,r but you can also store it in any glass bottle that you have.

Store the tincture in a cool dark place, such as a kitchen pantry or kitchen cabinet.  Do not store your herbal medicinal tinctures in the bathroom.  The fluctuations in temperature can shorten the shelf life of the tincture.

The shelf life of an alcohol-based herbal tincture is very long, almost indefinite. The shelf life of a glycerine-based herbal tincture is approximately 2-3 years.  The shelf life of an apple cider vinegar-based tincture is approximately 1 year.

Master Recipe for How to Make Medicinal Herbal Tinctures Using Any Herb

A recipe how to make a healthy, budget-friendly turmeric black pepper tincture to boost your immune system. The blog post also offers a guide on the various health benefits of this turmeric tincture!

Turmeric Tincture - Nature’s Golden Medicine

turmeric (ground)

alkaline water

tBsp organic black pepper (ground)

acerola cherry powder (optional)

Before you start, make sure to sterilize all your tools and containers - any spoon, jar, blender jug that would come in contact with the turmeric tincture must be well washed and sterilized.

Then grate the turmeric. Make sure to wear gloves to prevent your hands from staining in yellow. You can also blend it in a food processor/blender just long enough to break it down into tiny bits. *

Add the grated turmeric into a sterilized glass container. Add the black pepper and acerola cherry powder. **

Pour the alcohol over, then add the water.

Stir well and put away in a dark cupboard for 6 weeks. 

Every couple of days, open the jar and stir with clean spoon. Put back in the cupboard.

In 6-weeks time, this mixture can be drained and stored in little darkened dropper bottles. Then it's ready to be used. 

Dissolve 0.5 ml (about 10 drops) tincture in a glass of water and take 1-2 times a day.

This goldenrod tincture blend is helpful as an internal remedy for sinus congestion due to seasonal allergies, head colds, sinus infections, or flu. It is very drying and decongesting, and therefore isn’t the best remedy for the beginning stages of a cold when runny mucus can actually help expel pesky viruses. Instead, use it during the latter stages of an infection when the mucus is thick and yellow-green in color.

Use fresh plant tinctures if possible (1:2 95%), but you can substitute dried tinctures as needed.

Combine all the tinctures. You’ll need a glass beaker for the smaller measurements.

Store in a glass dispensing bottle.

Dosage is 4 ml (⅘ of a teaspoon) three times a day.
