Always popular at a party, these yummy Cream Cheese Tortilla Pinwheels are easy to make, super tasty and chock full of flavor.

Tortilla Pinwheels

Cream Cheese

Chopped Olives

Diced Green Chiles (I don’t drain the liquid but some do)

Red Onion (chopped)

Cheddar Cheese (shredded)

Flour Tortillas

Mix softened cream cheese with all ingredients. 

Spread mixture on tortillas.

Roll the tortillas up into a cylinder.

Slice into one inch pieces. 

Serve.

These vegetarian tortilla pinwheels are fun, quick, easy to make, and always a hit! Loaded with fresh vegetables, cream cheese, and spinach these bite-sized veggie pinwheels can be served cold or baked. Perfect as an appetizer, school lunch, or snack! 

Vegetarian Tortilla Pinwheels

oz cream cheese (soft

green onions (finely chopped)

bell pepper

carrots (shredded)

broccoli (finely chopped)

dry oregano

garlic powder

dry parsley flakes

salt (adjust

black pepper powder (adjust to taste)

flour tortillas

cream cheese filling (from above)

baby spinach leaves

cheese cheese

Red chilli flakes (optional and adjust to taste)

In a mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese followed by spices - salt, black pepper, oregano, garlic powder, and parsley. Mix well. You can also microwave the cream cheese for 10-15 seconds or until soft enough to mix.

Then add the veggies - green onions, red and green bell pepper, carrots, broccoli. Mix well and divide the cream cheese mixture into 4 equal portions.

For making cream cheese filling

Warm tortillas for 15 seconds in the microwave or on the stovetop (this helps make the tortilla soft and easy to roll).

Place one portion of the cream cheese mixture and spread it evenly making sure you get as close to the edge as you can.

Layer it with a generous amount of cheese, sprinkle some red chili flakes (optional).

Top it with an even layer of spinach leaves. Make sure they are in the centre and not so much around the edges (for ease of tortilla sticking)

Starting from one side, roll the tortilla tight until you reach the opposite side. Apply some cream cheese to the end  (if more is required) to act as glue and help the tortilla stick.

Take a plastic wrap and place the tortilla seam-side down on it. Roll it so that the wrap covers the entire tortilla tightly. Tuck the sides inside. Repeat this procedure for the other rolls too.

Place these tortilla rolls in the refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour to overnight.

These pinwheels can be served Cold or warm (baked or air-fried). When ready to serve, get the rolls out of the fridge and unwrap. Slice each roll into 6-7 evenly sized about ½ inch pinwheels (pieces).

For making the tortilla pinwheels

Simply serve the sliced pinwheels while they are still cold with your favorite dipping sauce.

For the Cold Tortilla Pinwheels:

Preheat the oven to 375°F, line the baking tray with aluminum foil, and spray with cooking oil. Place the sliced tortilla pinwheels on the baking sheet and bake for 10-15 mins until the cheese has melted and the tortilla is crisp and golden around the edges. Flip half-way through.

For the Baked Tortilla Pinwheels:

Place the sliced tortilla pinwheels in the air fryer basket and air fry the pinwheels at 370°F for 6 to 8 mins, rotating halfway through or until cheese has melted and the edges are golden.

For the Air-fried Tortilla Pinwheels:

Mexican Pinwheels Recipe

(8 ounces) package cream cheese (softened)

sour cream

salsa

taco seasoning

(4 ounces) can chopped green chilies

Mexican cheese (finely shredded)

flour tortillas ((10 inch))

salsa (on the side)

Add cream cheese, sour cream, salsa, taco seasoning, and garlic powder to a small bowl. Mix together until smooth. Add the chilies and cheese and stir.

Scoop 1/2-3/4 cup of the mixture onto each 10-inch tortilla. Spread the mixture to cover the tortilla.

Roll each tortilla like you would a jelly roll.  Line them up, seam side down, in a baking dish. Cover the dish and place it in the fridge to chill for 2 hours overnight.

After they have chilled slice each tortilla roll into 1-inch pieces. Place them side by side on a serving tray so that you can see the rolled layers. Serve with salsa.

Lay a tortilla flat on a large plate or cutting board.

Spread about 3 tbsp of Dairy Free Veggie Cream Cheese Spread on the tortilla.

Place 3-4 pepper slices, 3-4 carrot slices, 4 radish slices, 3-4 cucumber slices and a sprinkling of arugula leaves on top of the cream cheese spread.

Roll up the tortilla as tight as possible.

Using a serrated knife, cut into equal bite size pieces.

Tortilla Pinwheels Recipe (School Lunch Idea)

flour tortilla

Tbsp cream cheese

mozarella cheese ((or your favorite cheese))

oz turkey deli meat ((2 slices))

lettuce spinach leaves))

tomato, thinly sliced

Spread cream cheese over tortilla.&nbsp;

Add sliced mozzarella and deli meat over the top half of the tortilla followed by shredded lettuce and sliced tomato.&nbsp;

Tightly roll the tortilla from the top downward then slice the roll into rings.&nbsp;

I know this is an old post but thank you so much.  My 1st grader started school today and came up to me last night and said, "Mommy, I am 6 years old.  I think I am responsible enought to bring my lunch to school, will you pack it with me?"  Thank you so much for the late night inspiration.
