These slow cooker Hot Turkey Sandwiches start with a can of beer and end with a stick of butter. So great for your next party! Or serve the shredded turkey for a fuss-free, delicious holiday meal any time of year.

Hot Turkey Sandwiches

(12 ounce) can light beer ((see note 1))

onion

chicken base (plus more,

parsley

salt and ground white pepper

bone-in skin-on turkey breast ((see note 4))

butter (cubed (1 stick))

cornstarch (optional (see note 5))

rolls (split, for serving (see note 6))

In the bottom of a slow cooker, add beer, onion soup mix, chicken base, dried parsley, and 1 teaspoon white pepper. Add turkey breast. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours or HIGH for 3 to 4 hours.

Remove turkey breast from slow cooker and transfer to a rimmed baking sheet. Take off skin and separate meat from bones, discarding bones and skin. Shred turkey.

While the meat is still out of the slow cooker, stir in butter until melted. For a thicker broth, remove 1/2 cup broth and whisk with cornstarch. Add back to slow cooker.

Add shredded turkey back to slow cooker and heat until broth is thickened, about 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt and white pepper. Serve with rolls.

Smoked Turkey, Pepper Jack Cheese, and Basil Panini

sourdough bread

Pepper Jack Cheese

smoked turkey (or rotisserie chicken)

Basil leaves (whole)

Brush one side of each slice of bread with olive oil.

Spread a light coating of mayo on reverse side of the bread.

Stack slices of cheese, turkey, tomato, basil and more cheese on top of mayo-covered side of bread. Cover with remaining slice of bread--mayonnaise side to the top layer of cheese.

Cook on a panini grill preheated to HIGH or use a heavy skillet with another skillet placed on top of the sandwich--in which case you will need to flip the sandwich after a couple of minutes. Allow the sandwich to grill until the cheese melts and the bread is golden brown and toasty.

tbsp Cranberry sauce

tbsp Mayonnaise

Little gem lettuce leaves

Bacon medallions

Cook 4 Bacon medallions to your desired crispiness.

Build your sandwich but buttering 6 slice Sourdough bread (optional). Spread over 2 tbsp Mayonnaise, add a slice of 200 g Turkey breast and half the 4 tbsp Cranberry sauce.

Add 2 Little gem lettuce leaves, second slice of bread, 2 Cheese slices and cooked bacon.

Add more cranberry sauce, more turkey, and the slices of 1 Tomato. Finish off with the final slice of bread.
