Air fried french fries are the healthier alternative to the traditional fries, they use a lot less oil and are cooked in 20 minutes. No matter which air fryer brand you use, this recipe is perfect.

Air Fried French Fries

med Russet potatoes

2½ tbsp Avocado Oil (20 milliliters)

Salt (to taste)

Step 1

Thoroughly wash potatoes. Cut into desired french fry size and place into a cold bowl of water (for at least whilst chopping) See notes*. Drain potatoes, dry thoroughly and use a paper towel to stamped out any extra moisture once the potatoes have been cut up. See video.

Step 2

Evenly coat uncooked french fries in avocado oil using your hands to mix through. Place in a singular layer in your air fryer tray and cook for 10 minutes on high. Turn over and cook further 10 minutes. 

Step 3

Serve in a bowl and add salt as required and serve immediately.

Our version features strips of baked organic fries, seitan, and nondairy sour cream. It might not be the pinnacle of healthy dishes, but it’s so tasty that we can see why it spread like wildfire.

Vegan Carne Asada Fries

organic frozen fries (any variety, Two 16-ounce bags)

salsa (smooth rather than chunky)

olive oil

chili powder

avocados

limes

container vegan sour cream (purchased

tomato (diced)

cilantro

Preheat the oven to 425º F.

Spread the fries on a large, parchment-line baking sheet.

In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the salsa, olive oil, and chili powder. Add the seitan and stir together. Transfer to a parchment-lined roasting pan.

Place the fries and seitan mixture in the oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until the fries are golden brown and crisp.

Meanwhile, halve each avocado, remove the pit. Scoop the flesh out into a shallow bowl. Mash well. Add the juice of 1/2 to 1 lime, to taste. Cut the other lime into thin wedges.

To serve, arrange some fries on each individual plate; follow by some seitan strips, then a dollop each of the mashed avocado and sour cream.

Sprinkle with some tomato and garnish with cilantro. Serve at once.

This vegan poutine is easy to make and delicious. Made with vegan cheese curds and simple mushroom gravy, it&#39;s perfect comfort food!

Easiest Vegan Poutine

pack medium firm tofu

tbsp tapioca starch

yeast

lemon juice

Sea salt

tbsp dairy-free milk, unsweetened (I like soy)

3½ tbsp unflavoured oil

lb yellow or russet potatoes (3-4 medium potatoes)

butter

cremini mushrooms

1½ tbsp miso paste

tbsp tamari or soy sauce

onion powder

flour flour

vegetable stock

Add tofu, tapioca starch, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, 1 tsp salt, milk and 2 tbsp unflavoured oil to a blender.

Blend on medium for about 15 seconds until mixture is smooth and ingredients are completely combined.

Transfer to a small saucepan, and cook on low temperature (stirring regularly) for 10-12 minutes, until &#39;cheese&#39; is smooth and stretchy. The mixture will become lumpy at first and may stick to the pan a bit but that&#39;s ok - just keep stirring until it becomes smooth!

Transfer to a bowl until ready to use.

For the Cheese Curds

Preheat oven to 400°F/205°C.

Slice potatoes into strips 1cm wide.

Place on baking trays and toss in remaining unflavoured oil. Sprinkle with sea salt to taste.

Bake in oven for 30 minutes, flipping fries over after 15 minutes.

For the Fries

While the fries are cooking, add vegan butter/olive oil, mushrooms, miso paste, soy sauce, onion powder, flour and broth to a blender. Blitz on high power for 15 seconds until smooth.

Transfer to a saucepan and heat until bubbling. Reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes - stirring frequently - until gravy has thickened. Taste and add salt if needed.

(If you&#39;re not a fan of mushrooms, don&#39;t despair! You can use this simple vegan gravy recipe instead.)

For the Gravy

Place fries in a large serving dish.

Dollop with small piles of cheese curds and pour over gravy. Decorate with sliced green onions if desired.

Enjoy immediately!
