Watermelon juice is a cooling and healthy drink for summers.

Watermelon Juice

watermelon

salt (optional))

chaat masala ((optional))

ice cubes

Chop the watermelon. Remove the seeds.

In a blender add the chopped watermelon and gulkand. Blend well.

Serve the juice in glasses topped with ice cubes.

Optionally you can also add some chaat masala and black salt while serving the watermelon juice.

Watermelon Juice Recipe

sweet watermelon (a 6 pounder will do)

Slice the watermelon in half. Using a big spoon, scoop chunks of sweet watermelon into the blender. Discard the rind.

Blend the watermelon until it is totally pulverized. This shouldn&#8217;t take more than a minute. For extra flavor, squeeze the juice of one small lime into the blender and blend for a few seconds.

If your watermelon is notably pulpy or seeded, pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher. If not, you can pour it directly into glasses filled with ice. Watermelon juice will keep in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 4 days. The juice will separate over time; stir it with a spoon to recombine.

I just found this, but I have been looking for a recipe like this for a while.  I use to get this drink in PI, Thailand, and etc when I was in the Navy on deployment and I loved it.  Now, back in the US they don't serve drinks like this anywhere I know.  So, thanks for sharing.

All 3 versions were great for our party goers
none who knew what was in the mix.

I sometimes buy a watermelon that taste good but has that bad texture I just put it in the blender and drink it I use to just throw them out but now I drink it very refreshing drink.

Kate, why are you discarding the seeds?
The seeds are lovely on our colon, as well as nutritious in their own right.
Also too, I discovered by using my fancy pants nice juicer, the water that comes out at the end is easier to drink in large quanties if one is doing a cleanse.

I made some watermelon juice from an organic melon purchased a few days before. When I take a drink, initially it’s delicious but has an icky aftertaste, like I’m drinking the rind (none of which went into the juice). Is it always like this or should I try again.

I just made some pickled watermelon rind and have all this flesh left over. If I make the entire melon into juice how long can it be kept if refrigerated or can it be frozen once blended with the lime juice? Could a lemon be used instead of lime?

Homemade watermelon juice is refreshing, free from additives and loaded with nutrients. It hydrates the body and helps to beat sunstroke.

Watermelon juice recipe

lemon juice ((adjust to taste))

½ inch ginger ((optional))

sabja seeds ((sweet basil seeds

mint leaves ((optional))

If using sabja seeds or chia seeds, rinse them quickly in a large bowl.

Strain to a coffee filter. Soak them in ¼ cup water for at least 30 mins to few hours.

Rinse watermelon under running water.

Cut it to 2 halves. Remove the seeds. Tender white seeds can be used for the juice.

Chop the watermelon pulp from the rind.

To avoid ice cubes, you can chill the watermelon before juicing.

Preparation

Add the ingredients to a blender jar and blend till smooth.

If using soaked chia or sabja seeds, add then to your serving glass. Then pour the watermelon juice. Serve watermelon juice immediately.

oz watermelon (peeled) (2 1/4 cups watermelon)

1.75 oz orange (peeled) (1/2 small orange)

0.03 oz hibiscus (dried) (1 teaspoon hibiscus)

Heat water to just under boiling, add hibiscus and place in the fridge until cooled down to room temperature.

4 Ways to Juice a Watermelon (+ Watermelon Keg)

Gather the watermelon flesh. Since it&#39;s going to be juiced, there&#39;s no need to spend time cutting nice even pieces. You can simply chop the melon in half and scoop out the flesh with a spoon.

Perhaps surprisingly, using a juicer for watermelon juice is actually my least favorite method. All you need to do is chop your melon down to size, enough to fit your juicer chute. However, I&#39;ve found that the remaining pulp is still quite &#39;wet&#39;, so it&#39;s not optimal.

Watermelon Juicer Method

You may need to do this in batches, based on how much melon you&#39;re juicing. Place the watermelon flesh in your food processor/blender and process into a juice. This should only take 30-60 seconds!

Then, use a nut milk bag or sieve to remove the broken-up seed pieces and any pulp.

Using a Food Processor/Blender

Place the watermelon flesh in a large bowl or container (i.e. the one that comes with the immersion blender- but this would need to be done in batches). Then use the blender to blend the flesh into a thick pulpy juice.

With this method, the seeds will get crushed too, so you will still need to seive the juice if preferred. Otherwise, you can keep the fiber/pulp in the juice for extra roughage.

Using a Handheld/Immersion Blender

Place the watermelon flesh in a large nut milk bag. Holding it over a large bowl, squeeze the bag with your hands to manually juice the watermelon. There&#39;s no need to go through a second sieve step, as you&#39;re already leaving the pulp behind!

Juice a watermelon by hand

All you need to make this watermelon keg/ dispenser are a large watermelon, a sharp knife, a blender (immersion or jug), and a tap and stand ( or anything to keep the melon up-right).Tip * Alternatively, if you can&#39;t find anything to use as a &#39;stand&#39;, you can cut a very thin layer of melon from the bottom. Just enough to keep it upright, without going all the way through the rind.

Cut off the top of the watermelon and set it aside. Then, with a knife or a scooper, break down a bit of the watermelon flesh.

Use either a hand-held blender to blend the watermelon juice directly in the watermelon rind or you can scoop out the flesh and blend/juice it separately using the methods above.If you are blending directly in the watermelon, pour it out from time to time and sieve to remove the seeds (not needed if you use a seedless melon). Set the juice aside. Make sure to scoop out all the watermelon flesh from inside the rind.

Place the tap in your watermelon keg. Make sure it&#39;s low enough so all the juice can be dispensed, then press the tap against the skin to leave a slight mark. You can then use a sharp knife to make an incision - slightly smaller than the mark. Then, Insert the tap through the rind.Pro Tips: Check if there&#39;s any flesh that has gotten into the end of the tap - it could potentially block the flow. Also, make sure you close the tap before you pour in the juice.

Pour in the sieved juice. You can optionally add some mint and ice cubes. Place the top of the watermelon as a lid. Enjoy your watermelon keg! Pro tip: Make sure the lid doesn&#39;t completely block the airflow, as then you cannot use the tap. Leave it slightly open or make a small incision in the back so the air can go in. You&#39;re now left with a delicious, fun fruity party drink or healthy treat to enjoy all day long! Plus friends and family are sure to love this creative way to use watermelon!

To start, slice the watermelon in wedges and remove the rind. Seed each piece if you&#39;d like, then cut it into small chunks and transfer to a blender.

Add 1 cup of water and mix on high until smooth, then transfer to a large mason jar or pitcher. Repeat the same process with the other half of the watermelon.

Add the rest of the water into your pitcher along with &frac14; cup sweetener and stir. Taste and add more sweetener or water to your liking.

Transfer the jar to your fridge to chill for a few hours, or serve your agua de sandia immediately over ice with mint sprigs, fresh basil, lime, or lemon wedges. Enjoy!
