Pour the 2 cups of milk into a pan and warm it up.

Add the 1 tsp of turmeric, 1/4 tsp of black pepper, 1/4 tsp of ginger powder, and 1/2 tsp of cinnamon.

Use a whisk to mix all of the ingredients.

The golden milk is ready when it’s hot and before it starts boiling.

This sounds like a really comforting drink, especially for the cold weather.

We actually drink raw milk and I bet it would make an amazing golden milk.  I also have raw turmeric, so I'll use that.  I didn't realize it was this easy to make golden milk!

I like using turmeric in cooking and keep meaning to try golden milk but have never quite got round to it - your pictures look so pretty and I like the idea of a bit of cinnamon in there too. Must finally try it!

This recipe is so easy! I have never tried golden milk. but I love the spice combination you have going on here. I have been lactose intolerant, in varying degrees, for over 30 years! I can not tolerate milk, or soft cheeses, but do ok with hard cheeses. I'll have to try this recipe, with one of my milks.

A seasonal twist on the classic whiskey cocktail, the Toasted Pecan Old Fashioned is a perfect cocktail for a chilly winter night. Toasted pecans soak in whiskey for days before the infused alcohol is poured atop a sugar and bitter mixture to make an Old Fashioned.

Toasted Pecan Old Fashioned

½ cup pecans, toasted

½ cups whiskey (a good drinking one!)

sugar cube (or ½ teaspoon granulated sugar)

1. In a small pot, bring the milk to a gentle boil. Remove from the heat and add the chai bag and star anise (if using). Cover and steep 10 minutes. 2. Remove the tea bag and add the cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, and honey. Place over low heat and stir until the milk is steaming. Stir in the vanilla. 3. Pour the hot espresso into a mug, then pour over the hot chocolate. Dollop with whipped cream, and top with chocolate shavings and cinnamon. Drink and enjoy!

How to Make White Hot Chocolate (+ Flavors| Toppings| Crockpot Option)

5.4 oz white chocolate

vanilla powder (or extract (optional))

marshmallow & dried berries (optional topping)

First, cut the white chocolate down into small pieces (to make it easier to melt).

Then, heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Once warm, add the white chocolate and the vanilla.

Whisk the mixture well until the white chocolate has completely melted into the white hot chocolate mixture. Heat the mixture for between 5-8 minutes, bringing it to just under a boil (WITHOUT BOILING), then remove from the heat.If you’re adding any extras, do so with the chocolate. Then, at the end, taste and adjust any of the flavors to personal preference.

Transfer the white hot cocoa to mugs, top with your toppings of choice (recommendation below) and enjoy!

Stovetop Method

Add all the ingredients to the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 2-2 ½ hours, stirring every 30 minutes, until the chocolate is melted.Then, either serve the white chocolate hot cocoa immediately OR change the crockpot to the KEEP WARM setting.

Crock Pot White Hot Chocolate

Store: Allow the white chocolate hot cocoa to cool and then store in an airtight bottle in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.Reheat: You can reheat the hot chocolate either in the microwave or on the stovetop, whisking/stirring well until warm.

How to Store?

Warm up with a hot toddy. The combination of whisky, honey, lemon, cinnamon and cloves really packs a punch and is great for entertaining in winter

Whisk the Johnnie Walker Black Label Scotch Whisky and honey together and split between 2 heatproof glasses. Add half of the cinnamon stick to each, then top up with 200ml boiling water.

Add a splash of lemon juice to each, then taste and add more to your preference. Finish each with a slice of lemon, studded with a clove, and serve immediately.
