Yum Yum Sauce

Cup Mayonnaise

Tablespoons Ketchup

Tablespoon Granulated Sugar

Paprika

Rice Vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)

Garlic Powder

1-4 Tablespoons Water (as needed)

Whisk all ingredients together in a medium bowl until smooth, using only 1 Tablespoon of water to start, and adding more as needed for desired consistency.

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving for best flavor.

Store leftover sauce in a tightly sealed container or jar for up to 5 days.

I remember in high school my friends and I came up with  a sauce like this to eat with pizza. I'll say this- it made school lunch a WHOLE lot better. lol!

Yeah it will completely change the flavor. Hellmans mayo is best. I wouldn't use non fat or low calorie either or any flavored. Those also change the taste.

You can absolutely use some yogurt. Specifically 2% Fage. I made this tonight with 3/4 cup Fage and 1/4 cup Hellman’s mayo and it was DELICIOUS. And I LOVE mayo. I can taste the difference between Hellman’s and other brands in restaurants, and I am not at all afraid to use straight mayo when it’s the best option. But I have found this base (1:3 ratio Hellman’s to Fage) works SO WELL in so many places that people insist on straight mayo. (I do the same base  for the white sauce that is served with Halal/Shwarma chicken and yellow rice at the street carts.).

Yes! Sometimes it is...unless you get the ginger dressing. But yum yum is delicious on literally EVERYTHING! Try it on your fried rice. It's mind blowing!!

I am the girl at the Japanese restaurant that says "two yum yum sauce please" and then ask for refills when they come back around 0_0  ^not weird at all.

I mad this but instead of tomato paste used sweet and spicy pepper paste and it came out well.

I've always loved yum yum sauce. You know what makes this even better??? Letting it sit for 48 hours in the fridge for all the ingredients to really sink in and then taking it out to get to room temperature.  I also found Himalayan pink sea salt gives it an even better flavor if you are fond of sea salt.  There are inky two recipes for yum yum sauce I have liked that I've found over the last 3 to 4 years. This is one of them. I do like how it can be used instantly with the flavor but it definitely makes a difference when it sits a couple days.

Japanese style Hibachi Chicken made with sautéed vegetables served over rice and topped with YUM YUM SAUCE!  An easy dinner that&#x27;s better than takeout.

Hibachi Chicken

sesame oil (, divided)

vegetable oil (, divided)

Tbsp butter (, divided)

large boneless (, skinless chicken breasts, trimmed and

soy sauce (, divided)

garlic

salt and pepper (,

zucchinis (, chopped)

onion (, chopped)

carrot (, thinly sliced)

8- oz package crimini mushrooms

rice (, for serving)

Hibachi sauce (Yum Yum Sauce):

Hellmann's Mayo

Tbsp ketchup

Tbsp Rice Vinegar

Salt and pepper

Heat 1 teaspoon oil and 1 teaspoon sesame oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet or wok. Add chicken and season with salt, and pepper. Cook one minute. Add 1 Tbsp butter, 1 Tbsp soy sauce and garlic to skillet and sauté, until cooked through. set aside and cover with foil.

In the same pan, heat half the oils for vegetables. Add half of the vegetables. Cook on high for 1 minutes. Add 1/2 Tbsp butter, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, and salt and pepper. Sauté until fork-tender—do not overcook. Set aside, and repeat steps with remaining vegetables.

Serve chicken and vegetables over rice, with sauce on the side for dipping.

For the sauce:

Mix all ingredients together and whisk until well combined.

Refrigerate overnight or at least for 8 hours prior to serving.

Korean BBQ Yum Yum Rice Bowls

lbs. top sirloin steak

ginger

bosc pears

soy sauce

brown sugar

sesame oil

rice

kimchi

greens

eggs

sesame seeds

scallions

MEAT PREP

Cut the steak into very thin bite-sized pieces and place in a mixing bowl. Peel the garlic, ginger, and pears. Pulse in a food processor until a paste forms. Add the paste to the meat and stir to combine. Cover everything with soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil &#8211; just enough to cover and marinate. Your ratio should be roughly 4 parts soy sauce, 4 parts brown sugar, 1 part sesame oil. Mix it all up and refrigerate for 30 minutes or so.

MEAT COOKING

Heat a large heavy-duty skillet over very high heat. Discard remaining marinade and add the steak to the pan. Sear for a few minutes, flipping it around once or twice, until your meat has a really nice golden brown exterior. Set aside.

BOWL ASSEMBLY

Arrange the rice, kimchi, greens, and steak in a bowl. Add the egg on top and sprinkle with sesame seeds, scallions, and Yum Yum Sauce. Mwah! You&#8217;re a boss.

Vegan Mayonnaise ((240 grams))

Tablespoons Tomato Paste

Add vegan mayonnaise, tomato paste, rice vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, white granulated sugar, melted vegan butter and water to a mixing bowl.

Whisk together until smooth and well mixed.

Let it chill in the fridge for at least an hour and up to 24 hours for the flavors to blend.

Not sure what I did wrong, but when I followed the recipe, it didn't taste quite right. I ended up having to add an extra tsp each of sugar and ketchup to get that familiar taste. Also you can substitute butter with margarine if you want.

I made this last night to go with shrimp fried rice.  It was delicious!  I halved the recipe and added a couple of shakes of ground mustard.  My husband declared it was "freaking amazing" and something that needed to be made every time we have shrimp or fried rice.
