Step 1
Heat an extra large skillet or braising dish over medium high heat. Once hot add olive oil.
Step 2
Add the sliced sausage and cook for 4-6 minutes until browned on each side. Remove from the pan.
Step 3
Lower the heat to medium low and add in the apple cider vinegar to deglaze the pan, scraping any brown bits from the bottom of the pan.
Step 4
Turn the heat back to medium high and then add the red onion and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Step 5
Next, add the sliced cabbage and garlic to the pan. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until the cabbage begins to cook down in the pan.
Step 6
Add the sausage back to the pan, along with the red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Continue to cook for 2-4 minutest until the cabbage has browned and wilted. It should be tender but still slightly crisp.
Step 7
Taste and add extra seasoning, if needed, and then serve!
