Step 1
Separate cauliflower into small florets and rinse the florets.
Step 2
Bring water to boil in a pot. Add the cauliflower florets along with salt and turmeric powder. Let it boil for 4-5 minutes. Drain the water and set aside.
Step 3
Meanwhile peel and thinly slice the onion. Also, finely chop the peeled garlic.
Step 4
Heat oil in a pan or kadai. Add mustard seeds and when they splutter, add fennel seeds.
Step 5
Once the fennel seeds change color slightly, add the sliced onions.
Step 6
Saute till onions turn transparent. Then add finely chopped garlic and curry leaves.
Step 7
Again saute till edges of onions turn brown in color.
Step 8
Now add the cauliflower florets. On medium heat, fry the cauliflower florets till they start browning at the edges.
Step 9
Check for salt and add some, if needed.
Step 10
Finally add the freshly ground black pepper and mix well.
Step 11
Stir fry for a couple of minutes more and remove from heat.
Step 12
Cauliflower pepper fry is now ready to be served.
