Step 1
Rinse lentils under cold water. Place in a medium saucepan. Cover with cold water. Bring to the boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until just tender. Drain. Rinse under cold water.
Step 2
Combine oil, 1/4 cup lemon juice, cumin, coriander and sugar in a small bowl.
Step 3
Combine lentils, onion, tomatoes and spinach in a bowl. Pour over dressing and toss to combine.
Step 4
Heat a greased barbecue plate or chargrill on medium-high heat. Season steaks with salt and pepper. Cook steaks for 2 to 3 minutes each side for medium or until cooked to your liking. Serve steaks with lentil salad.
