Cheeseburger and Fries Casserole

(10-3/4 ounces) condensed golden mushroom soup, undiluted

(10-3/4 ounces) condensed cheddar cheese soup, undiluted

(20 ounces) frozen crinkle-cut french fries

Good base recipe, but I made a few changes. I added an onion, garlic powder, a couple splashes of Worcestershire sauce and used steak fries. When it was done, I put some shredded cheese and brown gravy on top and let it cook another 10 minutes.

I used to make this for my kids but I can't remember what taste of home book it was in. Can anyone help?

This is pretty good, but I did make some changes, of course don’t we all lol. So first I browned my ground beef with Worcester sauce, then drained excess and fat. I then used cream of bacon soup instead of mushroom. Finally I used steak fries, which meant it cooked about 15 min more. Finally I sprinkled some shredded cheese on top and let it sit for 10 minutes before serving. The great thing though is they ate it up and I had no leftovers,  and bonus, the kids liked it so much they did the dishes!

I made some changes to the original recipe and it came out pretty tasty. I shredded some onion into the beef and it was cooking. I also took a few pickle spears and gave them a rough dice and mixed them into the cheese soup. I also omitted the mushroom soup mix since my kids won't touch them. I finished it all off with a little squirt of ketchup that I mixed in. Will be making this one again!

I made this for my grandkids but found I didn't have any hamburger. I used frozen mini meatballs instead and it was a big hit. What kid doesn't like meatballs? Definately a favorite!

Love this recipe. It is so easy to make. I double it so I have leftovers.

I've been making this since my kids were little (now my Grandkids eat it) and it's a good basic recipe that you can tweak to your own tastes, as written it definitely needs jazzing up. I use 85/15 ground beef and brown it first by itself (no need to pour off any of the seasonings with the fat) then spoon off some but all of the fat. When I add the soups I also include 8 strips of thick sliced bacon which has been diced and cooked til crisp, 1 Tb yellow mustard, 1 tsp dill weed, 1/4 cup finely diced onion, 1/2 tsp granulated garlic, 1/2 tsp black pepper and 1/2 tsp Wrights liquid hickory smoke for a BBQ'd flavor. I Sprinkle seasoned salt to taste on the fries before putting them on the meat/soup mixture. After I dish mine up I put some ketchup on the fries and I think it tastes like the best diner comfort food ever.

My kids love this.  It is so easy for a busy day.

One of my family's favorite quick meals since it first appeared in QC in May 1998!  I've always used 1 to 1 1/2 lbs ground beef even when all of our six children were home.  Just added a few more fries & a salad & dessert & it was plenty for all of us!  Fast & easy!

I am giving this 5 stars BUT I added Johnny's Seasoning to it and that's what made the huge difference.  Even my 10 year old daughter said this was a "do-over".

Pretty good! made a few changes of course. I put 1/2 the soup on top of the fries then topped with cheese and baked a little longer

@cwbuff2  If you think 90/10 is too greasy, you must never eat hamburger?  You could use 93/7, Walmart has it all the time.  But if you do be prepared for a tasteless meal.I used frozen Arby's Curly Fries because they have a nice mixture of spices.  Vidalia onion chopped up is always a good idea.

The kids enjoyed this and I do think the flavor was good. I made my own soups mixture, rather than store bought. However, the fries never really got crispy. They were just a soggy mess, even after letting it bake for an additional 20 minutes. 2.2  stars

I was skeptical reading this recipe, but after all the positive reviews, I thought I would give it a try.  Unfortunately, we didn't find it very tasty.  The kids ate it, but was just all right.  Also does not reheat well.  I won't be making it again.  i'm glad others enjoy it, though.

This is quick, easy, and surprisingly good!  I think, however, that it should stand 5-10 minutes after being taken out of the oven to solidify.  Also, don't use hamburger which is too fatty, as the grease will make the dish too mushy.

very good. I use tater tots instead of fries we like it better that way and I add some vegetables.

I snagged this recipe when it was first printed, and it has been a staple in my menu rotation ever since! It is very easy to make, and is so delicious and filling. I often add a small can of sliced mushrooms to the beef mixture for a special touch.

Very quick and easy main dish. I added corn on the cob for a side and my family loved it!

I made this recipe for 2, so cut out 1 pound of hamburger and the mushroom soup.  Added some minced onion and some shredded cheese before putting on the fries.  Still made in a 9 X 13 pan.
