Step 1

Preheat a barbecue on medium-high heat. Place onions into a bowl of iced water. Set aside.

Step 2

Spray steak with oil. Barbecue for 2 to 3 minutes each side for medium-rare, or until cooked to your liking. Remove to a plate. Cover with foil. Set aside to rest.

Step 3

Meanwhile, place noodles into a bowl. Cover with boiling water. Set aside for 5 minutes. Drain. Refresh in cold water and separate noodles. Transfer to a large bowl.

Step 4

Combine ketjap manis, lime juice, sugar and oil in a screw-top jar. Shake until sugar dissolves. Pour over noodles. Toss gently to combine.

Step 5

Thinly slice steak across the grain. Drain onions. Add onions, steak, chillies and half the nuts to noodles. Toss to combine. Place into bowls. Top with remaining nuts. Serve with lime wedges.
