1.Gather the ingredients—Preheat the fryer to 350 degrees F.

3.Whisk together the flour, salt, pepper, chili powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper in another shallow bowl.

4.Dip the chicken pieces in the buttermilk mixture and then dredge in the seasoned flour mixture. Repeat this process with all chicken pieces until they coat with breading.
