Step 1
To prevent the rice from sticking, coat the bottom and sides of a 3 to 4 quart slow cooker insert lightly with butter (or vegetable oil).
Step 2
Rinse rice by adding it to a bowl and adding cool water, swirl the rice around in the water and then drain off the excess water.
Step 3
Add the rinsed rice, water and salt to the buttered slow cooker.
Step 4
Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 hours or on LOW for 8 hours.
