Step 1

Put a large pot of well-salted water on the stovetop to boil.

Step 2

In a large high-sided pan, put the sliced mushrooms and butter over medium-high heat. Cook on both sides until browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 3

Put the hamburger in the pan over medium-high heat and sprinkled with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Brown the meat.

Step 4

Remove all the excess fat and liquid from the pan with a spoon.

Step 5

Stir in the flour to the ground beef until it is no longer visible and there are no lumps of flour.

Step 6

Add the water and Johnny's Au Jus powder. Stir and simmer over medium heat until the mixture is slightly thickened. Add the sherry and kitchen bouquet (if using), and stir until well-combined.

Step 7

Add the parsley and thyme and reduce the heat to low for a low simmer.

Step 8

When the water is boiling, add the egg noodles and cook according to package directions.

Step 9

Drain, and stir in the cream cheese, sour cream, and half and half while the pasta is still piping hot. Mix in the Garlic, Onion, Sour Cream seasoning blend, if using.

Step 10

Serve the hamburger gravy hot over the noodles.
