Burgers made with ground turkey are a lean alternative to beef burgers, providing you choose turkey ground from the breast. Regular ground turkey, which is a mixture of light and dark meat and some skin, contains almost as much fat as lean ground beef. A honey-mustard mixture keeps these low-fat patties moist and succulent.

Honey-Mustard Turkey Burgers

canola oil

Lettuce, tomato slices and red onion slices, for garnish

Whisk mustard and honey in a small bowl until smooth.


Combine turkey, 3 tablespoons of the mustard mixture, salt and pepper in a bowl; mix well. Form into four 1-inch-thick burgers.


Lightly brush the burgers on both sides with oil. Grill until no pink remains in center, 5 to 7 minutes per side. Brush the burgers with the remaining mustard mixture. Serve on rolls with lettuce, tomato and onion slices.


So easy and delicious, I make this recipe all the time!  Can't be beat for the convenience and taste!  I serve it without a bun, but definitely include the lettuce and tomato.

The best turkey burger I have found and easy to make too
This recipe has quickly become a regular on my dinner list. I omit the salt (and don't miss it at all), and just mix all the honey mustard into the meat instead of glazing some on the outside...just for simplicity's sake. I did glaze it the first time or two, but it's just as good mixed in. It is sweet - so it doesn't necessarily fit the savory hamburger craving...but it stands its own and is a frequent request in my house. I like to make extra and freeze them for later too.

Make sure you get the very lean meat as stated...I used I think 93% once and they fell apart a lot easier (and less healthy too). The 99% lean works and tastes best in my experience.

Gourmet burgers with less drama than normal paddies. They are not only quick and simple to make, they stay together when cooked and taste wonderful. These will be regular at our house from now on (either as burger paddies or as rissoles with vegies).

Wow unexpectedly delish, very few ingredients great flavor, I made them on the stove and thought they were excellent. Only thing I did is sprinkled a little extra pepper on the outside. Yum will be making again.


These were so delicious!  Perfect recipe. The only things I changed was that I mixed all of the mustard mixture in the turkey, except for 4 tablespoons, which I brushed over the burgers....and I also used multi-grain english muffins instead of hamburger rolls. Fabulous!! Will be making quite a bit. Thanks!




These were really yummy.  I added some poultry seasoning, garlic power and extra pepper.  I also added green onions to the turkey.  I served them with sweet potato "fries".  My husband asked me if it was really turkey.
