Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375 F. For the cobbler crust combine the flour, salt, and sugar in a bowl. Add the shortening.

Step 2

Mix everything together well using a fork or your fingertips until crumbly.

Step 3

Add the water and mix a form a moist ball of dough.

Step 4

On a floured board, roll out half of the dough to make a crust that fits the bottom of the baking dish in which the cobbler is being made.

Step 5

Press the crust into the baking dish and prick it with a fork a few times.

Step 6

Bake in 375 F oven for 10 minutes. It should look done but not brown. Cool 10 to 12 minutes. t

Step 7

For the filling, wash the blueberries. Mix the blueberries, sugar, flour, and salt.

Step 8

Pour the fruit mixture on top of the bottom crust.

Step 9

Dot the berries with the butter.

Step 10

Roll out the rest of the dough.

Step 11

Place it on top of the fruit and prick it with a fork a few times.

Step 12

Brush the top crust with melted butter and sprinkle sugar.

Step 13

Bake the cobbler at 375 F for about 45 to 50 minutes.
