Salmon with Balsamic-Honey Glaze

balsamic vinegar

white wine or chicken broth

Dijon mustard

I made this for dinner tonight. As I didn't have plain balsamic vinegar, only raspberry balsamic, I used that instead. I had thought the dijon may be a little too much with raspberry, so I omitted it, and the fresh oregano. I wanted a thicker glaze, so I reduced twice as long and added a two teaspoon cornstarch slurry, whisking while boilng. The fish came out tender, flaky, and flavorful. My hubby thought it was really good.

I served this for a family dinner; it was delicious and everyone loved it.

Awesome!  Glaze was excellent.  Now my husband wants to replace the white wine with red and try it on steak.

I baked the salmon on a salt block so only basted with the balsamic honey glaze...no seasoning.  So delicious!

I really did not like this recipe. I followed directions exactly, but the sauce would not thicken. I wound up having it boil for over 10 minutes before I saw any thickening. I think that's what caused the sauce to taste so horrible. I may try this again but not for a while. There are better salmon recipes out there.

The sauce never thickened!  My husband hated it. The sauce was way to strong to our taste.

This was so good!!  Easy to make and I loved the marinade.

Made exactly as posted with very disappointing results. Two distinct tastes of the salmon and balsamic with neither complimenting the other.

My husband and I did not like this recipe at all.  The balsamic vinegar flavor was over powering and was not a flavor that we liked.  We could not taste the salmon at all, just the balsamic vinegar.  I will never fix this again.

I made it exactly per the instructions and was rather disappointed. There really wasn’t much flavor except the for balsamic vinegar and the oregano, both of which didn’t work in my opinion. Will try substituting the vinegar for Worcester sauce perhaps, drop the oregano, and maybe add a little more salt. I will say the fish itself was not dry like often happens in restaurants. I cooked mine for 14 min...wasn’t quite done at 12.
