Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a refreshing Spicy Jalapeño Margarita! I make mine by muddling fresh jalapeño and shaking it with tequila, cointreau, lime juice and vanilla syrup!

Spicy Jalapeño Margaritas

1 jalapeños, plus more for garnish (see notes)

(4 ounces) lime juice

(4 ounces) tequila blanco

vanilla simple syrup (or use agave)

cointreau

lime wedges,

Place sugar and salt on a small plate....

Place sugar and salt on a small plate. Wet the lip of 2 glasses with a wedge of lime and dip into the sugar and salt. Fill each glass to the top with ice and set off to the side.

Add desired jalapeños into a cocktail shaker and...

Add desired jalapeños into a cocktail shaker and muddle. ( I prefer 1/2 a jalapeno) The more jalapeños the spicier! If you don’t have a muddler, use the blunt end of a wooden spoon.

Next pour in 1/2 cup (or 4 ounces)...

Then pour in 2 ounces vanilla syrup and...

There’s no need to run out to buy mixer for your tequila fix when you can make this fresh margarita recipe. It’s vibrant, bright, and tasty.

The Best Fresh From-Scratch Margarita

Tablespoon coarse salt, or kosher salt

lime

fl oz silver tequila

fl oz fresh lime juice

fl oz orange liqueur

Tbsp simple syrup

To make the salt rim, combine salt and lime zest in a shallow bowl. Stir to combine.

Use a lime wedge to moisten the rim of a margarita glass. Rim the glass in the lime-salt mixture, twisting to coat well.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, and simple syrup. Shake to chill and combine.

Fill rimmed glass with ice. Strain margarita into the glass. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve.

Jack and Cherry Coke Slushies are a fun way to serve a classic JD and soda cocktail as a blended boozy beverage. Two ingredients, a blender, and an ice cube tray make a delicious frozen drink with a smooth spike.

Jack Daniel’s Whiskey

Pour 1 cup of Cherry Coke into a standard ice cube tray. Be sure only to fill each cube ¾ full as the Cherry Coke tends to expand when frozen. Place your filled ice cube tray into the freezer for at least 8 hours or up to overnight or until your Cherry Coke ice cubes are frozen through.

Place all the Cherry Coke ice cubes into the container of a blender along with the Jack Daniel’s whiskey.

Blend on high for 15-30 seconds. The amount of time it takes to blend will depend on how powerful your blender is. You can add an additional 1-2 ounces of Cherry Coke to the blender if it needs a little extra liquid to help the Cherry Coke ice cubes blend smoother. This is really only necessary if you do not have a high-powered blender.

Pour into a 12 to 14-ounce tall glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry on top.

Jolly Rancher Moonshine is quick and easy to make using hard candy, grain alcohol, soda, and syrup. It&#039;s like a liquid version of your favorite flavored Jolly Rancher with a very potent punch!

Place 20 unwrapped Jolly Rancher candies in each mason jar, separated by color.

Fill each jar with 1 cup of moonshine.

Add Sprite and syrup, seal and allow to stand for 8 hours or overnight. Note: if you still have some Jolly Ranchers pieces you can choose to remove them with a spoon.

Add ice, shake, and serve.

Cherry Bombs are vodka-infused maraschino cherries that are coated with white chocolate and dressed up as a 4th of July dessert.

Remove the lid of the jar of maraschino cherries, being sure to save the lid, and drain out a third of a cup of juice from the jar of the maraschino cherries. You want to keep the cherries in the jar.

Add a quarter cup of vodka to the jar of maraschino cherries. Replace the lid to the jar of cherries and refrigerate for at least one hour or up to overnight. The longer you allow your cherries to soak in the Vodka-infused juice, the stronger the flavor will be.

Once the cherries have soaked in the vodka-flavored cherry juice, carefully remove all the maraschino cherries from the jar. Place them onto a paper towel-lined plate, and pat the cherries dry really well.Tip: Be sure that your cherries are patted dry really well before dipping them into the melted white chocolate, as any excess liquid can cause the white chocolate to seize up and not adhere to the cherries.

Line a rimmed tray with a piece of parchment paper. Set aside.

In a small, microwave-safe bowl, add the white chocolate melting discs.

Microwave for thirty seconds to one minute at 50% power, stir, then microwave an additional 15-30 seconds or until the white chocolate is fully melted and stirred to a smooth consistency. Tips: For best results, follow the melting instructions on your brand&#39;s packaging for the white chocolate melting discs. Be sure to stir between each heating cycle.

Hold a very dry maraschino cherry by the stem and dip it into the melted white chocolate, covering approximately three-quarters of the cherry with the white chocolate.

Once you have dipped the cherry into the white chocolate, then dip the bottom of the white chocolate dipped cherry into the blue sanding sugar. Place the dipped cherry bomb onto the prepared rimmed tray. Be sure that the stem is pointing up. Repeat until all the stemmed maraschino cherries have been dipped.Tip: You may need to break apart the blue sanding sugar every so often, as it can tend to clump together in more humid temperatures. It can get “stuck” in clumps if any of the melted white chocolate gets mixed into it as you dip the cherries.

Place the tray of cherry bombs into the refrigerator for 30 minutes to chill before serving.

Mary’s in the Root Cellar Again

1.25 oz Oaklee Distilling Company’s Boots Vodka

oz Bloody Mary Mix

oz Roasted Sweetpotato Puree

In a large rocks glass, build the cocktail in the order listed. Try to layer the sweetpotato puree on top if possible.

Garnish with celery, lemon, roasted sweetpotatoes and bacon.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F, prick holes in 3-4 sweetpotatoes and roast for 1 hour. Allow to cool and remove the flesh from the skin.

Place the flesh in a blender or food processor with salt, pepper and slowly add water while blending until smooth. Store in an airtight container, shelf life is 48 hours.

Christmas Cherry Bombs are delicious cherries soaked in schnapps and dipped in chocolate and crushed candy.

To the jar of maraschino cherries, add ¼ cup peppermint schnapps. Replace the lid to the jar of maraschino cherries and refrigerate for 1 hour or up to overnight. The longer you allow your cherries to soak in the peppermint schnapps-infused juice, the stronger the flavor will be.

Once the cherries have soaked in the peppermint schnapps-flavored cherry juice, carefully remove all the maraschino cherries from the jar, place them onto a paper towel-lined plate, and pat the cherries dry really well.

In a small, microwave-safe bowl, add the white chocolate melting discs. Microwave for 30 seconds - 1 minute at 50% power, stir, then microwave an additional 15-30 seconds or until the white chocolate is fully melted and stirred to a smooth consistency. I can’t wait to make these. I think I’m going to make them in chocolate also so yummy I just can’t wait.

This Lemon Gin Fizz is simple and so refreshing! Dry gin, freshly squeezed lemon juice and club soda make for light and citrusy adult beverage.

Fill two glasses with ice.

Then divide the gin and fresh lemon juice among the glasses.

Lastly top each off with simple syrup to taste, club soda, fresh mint sprigs and lemon slices.

Just to note that simple syrup IS sugar dissolved in water.. (boiled and cooled)  So the recipe does indeed have sugar and it's needed to off set the lemons unless you opt for a soda water that is flavoured. Simple syrup (aka sugar / sweetener) is one of the ingredients listed in the recipe.
