Turned out beautifully! I used dark brown sugar in place of light. Gave it a new depth of flavor overall! It’s sweet at first sip but the spices pull it back with just the right amount of bitterness to make this one of the best ciders I’ve ever made

Hot Apple Cider

Combine spices in a sauce pan and cook over medium-high heat until aromatic, about 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently.

Add&nbsp;the nutmeg, and stir to combine.&nbsp; The, add in the apple juice and orange zest.&nbsp; Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, depending on how strong you like your cider.

Pour juice through a fine-mesh sieve, into a mug. Allow to cool slightly.

This Instant Pot Apple Cider recipe is the best drink for fall, and the holiday season, to keep you warm! It&#x27;s made in the pressure cooker with orange, lemon, apples, cranberries, cinnamon and cloves. 

Instant Pot Apple Cider

star anise (leave out if you prefer or can't find it)

water fruit

Place the quartered apples, orange, lemon and cranberries into the inner pot of your Instant Pot Pressure Cooker. Add cinnamon sticks, whole cloves and star anise (if using) and pour enough water to cover the fruit.

Place the lid on and cook on high pressure for 15 minutes. Allow to naturally release on its own or you can do a quick release after 10 minutes.

Mash the fruit with a potato masher to release the juices.

Carefully strain the solids from the liquids using a fine mesh sieve. Discard solids and store cider in an airtight container for up to 1 week or freeze for later use.

Homemade apple cider is my favorite fall drink. It's perfect for rainy and cold days, especially if you stay at home watching movies or reading a book.

Wash the apples and the orange and cut them into quarters.

Place all the ingredients in a large pot and when bring water to a boil. Then reduce heat to medium and simmer for about 1 or 2 hours. The longer it simmers, the more the flavors will meld together.

Strain out the apple cider juice into a clean pot.

This was a great recipe! I ended up using agave syrup instead of maple syrup and added in 3 tbspoons of brown sugar(brown sugar made it heavenly). I also added a cinnamon stick to each cup before serving, but I do admit that it did go a little overboard on the cinnamonny goodness.
