These Danish Smørrebrød or open faced sandwiches are probably the best sandwiches you will ever eat, easy to put together, yet impressive in appearance, so versatile and incredibly delicious.

Open Faced Sandwiches – Smørrebrød – Danish Food

Traditional pickled herring smørrebrød:

rye bread

Danish remoulade (or butter)

pickled herrings, depending

onion

gherkins

fresh dill or thyme

cayenne pepper

Smoked salmon and cucumber smørrebrød:

mayonnaise

salmon

cucumber

lemon

cayenne pepper, optional

Salami smørrebrød:

butter

salami

tomato

parsley

Avocado and egg smørrebrød:

½ avocado (or a very small whole one)

lemon juice

salt

coriander parsley leaves

black pepper, smoked would be great

Havarti cheese and tomato smørrebrød:

lettuce leaves

Havarti (or another sliced cheese you like)

salt and black pepper

The Ultimate Avocado Sandwich

bread ((whole wheat))

Brie cheese

½ avocado ((the other half

4-6 cranberries, dried ((6 cranberries = 10 grams))

½ tbsp balsamic vinegar

If you prefer your bread toasted, toast it.

While that’s happening, cut the avocado flesh into slices (check this video if you’re not sure how to do it)

Slice up the tomato and brie too.

Wash the arugula and cut the cranberries in half.

Assemble everything on one slice of bread and drizzle the balsamic vinegar on top.

Now just &quot;close&quot; the sandwich with the second slice of bread. Give it a little squish to stop any naughty bits sliding out...

... aaaaand you’re done!

The Ultimate Avocado Sandwich | Ready in 5, Juicy, Unbeatable!

If you&#039;ve never put avocado in a grilled cheese before you&#039;re missing out. This is about to be your new favourite brunch!

Avocado Grilled Cheese

Avocado, (ripe but not bruised)

2-3 square slices of Monterey Jack

Cheddar

Flaky Sea Salt, (to taste)

Chipotle Flakes ((see notes))

Prep Avocados

Prep Avocados: Use a sharp knife to carefully halve the avocado. Place on a flat surface then hit the stone with the blade of your knife. Carefully twist the stone out of the avocado, then peel both halves. Slice into thin strips then place to one side (see video for reference).

Prep Grilled Cheese

Prep Grilled Cheese: Butter one side of each of your slices of bread. Place two slices butter-side-down in a pan with the heat OFF. Top with Monterey Jack, followed by avocado slices. Season the avocado with a good pinch of salt, pepper and chipotle flakes, then top with cheddar.

Fry: Place two slices of bread on top butter-side-up. Turn the heat to a medium and fry both sides until the bread it crisp &amp; golden and the cheese has melted.

Serve

Serve: Serve with fried/poached egg and mop up that yummy egg yolk!

Easy, filling, tasty and hearty avocado sandwich made with a guacamole filling of ripe avocado, onions, herbs and spices.

Avocado Sandwich | Guacamole Sandwich

avocado (- medium to large)

garlic (small

black pepper

olive oil (- optional)

coriander leaves ((cilantro))

lemon juice (or add according to taste)

salt (as required)

white bread (or brown bread

Take a ripe avocado on a chopping board. With a knife give a cut at the center moving around the entire avocado. Remove the seed and cut the avocado into halves.

Remove the ripe pulp with the help of a spoon. Take the avocado pulp in a big bowl.

Add finely chopped onions, chopped coriander leaves and finely chopped green chili to the avocado pulp.

Next add garlic clove (finely chopped or crushed finely), black pepper powder and salt as required.

Now add the lemon juice as per taste.

Mix all the ingredients very well.

Lastly add olive oil (optional).

Mix very well and also mash the avocado while mixing. Keep this guacamole stuffing aside.

Preparation

Heat a pan on a medium heat. You can also toast the sandwiches in a hand held toaster or electric toast sandwich maker.

Spread the guacamole stuffing on the bread slices. Cover with another slice of bread.

Press gently and place the guacamole sandwich in the hot pan.

Check after 2 to 3 minutes and then flip the sandwich.

You can also drizzle some butter or olive oil and toast the sandwich on the pan.

Check if the second side has been toasted by turning over the sandwich. When done, then remove the toasted guacamole sandwich.

Similar way toast the other sandwiches with or without olive oil or butter until golden.

Cut into triangles or squares.

Serve avocado sandwich hot or warm with any dip or sauce of your choice

Making Avocado Sandwich

Avocado Sandwich layered with crisp veggies, creamy avocado, and the best herby spread for a lunch you’ll want on repeat!

Avocado Sandwich

(8-ounce) package cream cheese (softened

mayo (Best Foods/Hellman’s)

(1-ounce) packet Hidden Valley Original Ranch Salad Dressing and Seasoning Mix

wheat bread (see note 1)

green leaf lettuce

avocados

herbs (optional; dill, parsley,

Soften Cream Cheese

Let the cream cheese sit at room temp for 1 hour, or microwave in 15-second bursts until soft.

Make the Spread

Use a hand mixer to beat the cream cheese, mayo, and ranch mix until smooth. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes to thicken and blend the flavors.

Prep the Veggies

Slice cucumbers 1/4th-inch thick using a mandoline or sharp knife. Thinly slice the avocado and drizzle with lemon juice to keep it from browning.

Add Spread

Lightly toast the bread if you’d like. Let it cool. Spread the cream cheese mixture on both slices of each sandwich.

Assemble Sandwiches

Add cucumbers to one side. Sprinkle with cracked pepper and herbs if using. Add avocado to the other side, then top with lettuce. Press the slices together. Cut in half and enjoy right away.
